Commercial Bank Qatar Masters
The Qatar Masters was a European Tour golf tournament held at Doha Golf Club in Doha, Qatar. When founded in 1998, it was one of two European Tour events to be staged in the Arabian Peninsula, but was at one point, one of six. From 2005 to 2007 the tournament was co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. 2021 European Tour
The 2021 European Tour was the 50th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 13th and final edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Collin Morikawa, becoming the first American player to do so. Matti Schmid was named Rookie of the Year. Changes for 2021 Following a heavily disrupted 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a new look to the calendar announced in December 2020, with tournaments being scheduled in groups based on location. The Rolex Series was also reduced to just four tournaments - the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the Abrdn Scottish Open, the BMW PGA Championship and the season ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. Nacho Elvira
Ignacio "Nacho" Elvira Mijares (born 17 February 1987) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Amateur career Elvira played college golf at Texas A&M University where he won one event and was a two-time All-American. Professional career Elvira played on the Challenge Tour in 2012 and 2013, finishing 104th and then 14th. He won his first title in 2013 at The Foshan Open in China, and finished 14th in the Order of Merit to gain a place on the 2014 European Tour. After a mediocre 2014 European Tour season in which he finished 121st, he returned to the Challenge Tour for 2015, where he won three times to earn an immediate return to the European Tour. George Coetzee
George William Coetzee (born 18 July 1986) is a South African professional golfer. He has won five tournaments on the European Tour and 13 on the Sunshine Tour, where he has also topped the Order of Merit on two occasions. Early life Coetzee was born in Pretoria and matriculated from the Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool in 2004. Christiaan Bezuidenhout (; born 18 May 1994) is a South African professional golfer who is a three-time winner on the European Tour. He won the 2019 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters and, in consecutive weeks, the 2020 Alfred Dunhill Championship and the 2020 South African Open. Amateur career As an amateur, Bezuidenhout received a drug suspension after testing positive for beta blockers at the 2014 Amateur Championship. Bezuidenhout was using them for anxiety and a stutter after an accidental poisoning at the age of two. The suspension was originally for two years, but was later reduced to nine months. Justin Adam Harding (born 9 February 1986) is a South African professional golfer. Amateur career Harding attended Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and played college golf at Lamar University in Texas and represented his country as an amateur golfer. Professional career Having graduated, he earned a place on the Sunshine Tour at the first attempt, finishing third at the 2009 qualifying school while still an amateur. The 2019 European Tour was the 48th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 11th edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Spain's Jon Rahm, who was also named Golfer of the Year. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Changes for 2019 Rule changes From January 1, 2019 onwards, tournaments followed the new rules released by the USGA and The R&A which were designed to simplify the rule book and speed up the pace of play. David Drysdale
David Stuart Drysdale (born 19 March 1975) is a Scottish professional golfer. Career Drysdale was born in Edinburgh. He turned professional in 1995. He married his childhood sweetheart Victoria in 2004. Drysdale currently competes on the European Tour, having graduated through qualifying school for the fourth time at the end of 2008. He had previously qualified for the elite tour in 2001, 2006 and 2007 through q-school, in addition to graduating directly from the Challenge Tour in 2004, when he finished 12th on the end of season rankings, largely thanks to a sudden death playoff victory over Mattias Eliasson at the Bouygues Telecom Grand Final. Jorge Campillo (born 1 June 1986) is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He has won on the tour, the 2019 Trophée Hassan II and the 2020 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Amateur career After attending the Spanish national training centre as a junior, Campillo elected to play college golf at Indiana University in the United States. Campillo would go on to become one of the most successful players in the university's history, winning nine intercollegiate titles and being named to the Golfweek First Team All-American squad. He finished second in the 2008 NCAA championship. He also played in the Palmer Cup for Europe in 2007, 2008 and 2009. 2020 European Tour
The 2020 European Tour was the 49th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 12th edition of the Race to Dubai. The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the season, with many tournaments being rescheduled or cancelled. All four major championships were affected; The Open Championship was cancelled, and the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open and PGA Championship were moved to dates much later in the year. After a three-month hiatus following the Qatar Masters in early March, the tour resumed with a much changed schedule in July. Guido Migliozzi (born 25 January 1997) is an Italian professional golfer. He has three wins on the European Tour. He also competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Professional career Migliozzi turned professional in 2016. In 2017 and 2018 he played mostly on the Challenge Tour and the Alps Tour.
