Colin Beecher
Colin Beecher (born 16 October 1970) is a former professional tennis player from Great Britain. Biography Beecher, a right-handed player from Croydon, competed on the professional circuit in the 1990s. He faced two of Britain's rising stars in qualifying at the 1992 Wimbledon Championships, beating Tim Henman in straight sets, before falling to Greg Rusedski, 10–12 in the deciding set (although Rusedski was still a Canadian at the time). He featured in the main draw for the only time at the 1996 Wimbledon Championships and reached the second round, with an opening round win over fellow wildcard Nick Gould. In the second round he was beaten by Italian Renzo Furlan. On the ATP Tour he appeared in the main draw of two tournaments, at Nottingham in 1995 and Bournemouth in 1996. Now a tennis coach, Beecher previously worked for many years for the LTA and captained Great Britain in the 2006 Fed Cup. Croydon
Croydon is a large town in south London, England, south of Charing Cross. Part of the London Borough of Croydon, a local government district of Greater London. It is one of the largest commercial districts in Greater London, with an extensive shopping district and night-time economy. The entire town had a population of 192,064 as of 2011, whilst the wider borough had a population of 384,837. The 2015 Davis Cup was the 104th edition of the Davis Cup, a tournament between national teams in men's tennis. It was sponsored by BNP Paribas. Great Britain won their tenth title (their first since 1936), with Andy Murray defeating David Goffin of Belgium on clay in the final match held at Flanders Expo located in Ghent on 29 November 2015. Kyle Edmund
Kyle Steven Edmund (born 8 January 1995) is a South African born-British professional tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 14 and was the top-ranked male British tennis player from March 2018 through October 2019. Edmund is an Australian Open semifinalist, and only the sixth British man to play in a major singles semifinal in the Open Era. He won his maiden ATP Tour title at Antwerp in October 2018. Edmund made his Davis Cup debut in the 2015 final, against Belgium, with Great Britain winning the tournament for the first time in 79 years. Anne Viensouk Keothavong (born 16 September 1983) is a retired British tennis player. During her career, she won a total of 28 titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, and reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 48 (achieved on 23 February 2009). She also reached the semifinals of six WTA International tournaments, and the semifinals of one Premier tournament. Anne was British No. 1 and in 2009 became the first British player to make the WTA top 50 since 1993. In April 2001, aged 17, she became, until Katie Swan in 2016, the youngest player ever to play in the Fed Cup for the British team, and she is second (alongside Elena Baltacha) to Virginia Wade's record for most Fed Cup ties played for the Great Britain with 39. Richard Krajicek defeated MaliVai Washington in the final, 6–3, 6–4, 6–3 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1996 Wimbledon Championships. Krajicek was originally unseeded, but replaced seventh seed Thomas Muster in the draw when Muster withdrew from the tournament. Washington became the first male major finalist of African descent since Yannick Noah in the 1983 French Open, and the first at Wimbledon since Arthur Ashe in 1975.
