Colegio De Las Hijas De Jesus
Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus is a school run by the Daughters of Jesus located at Ledesma St., Iloilo City. It was first founded by Saint Candida Maria de Jesus History In 1932, four nuns of the Congregacion de las Hijas de Jesus from Spain arrived in the Philippines. They were Sister Porta, Sister Maria Rey, Sr. Brigida Sagardoy and Sr. Teresa Garcia. They wanted every child to learn Christian values and principles so they established its mother house in Pototan, Iloilo where it founded its first school, Colegio de la Immaculada Concepcion. In 1936, they established a school in Iloilo City named Colegio de Santo Angel temporarily administered by these four nuns while waiting for six other nuns from Spain. The Daughters of Jesus (french: Filles de Jésus) is a French Roman Catholic congregation of Religious Sisters, founded in 1834 at Kermaria-Sulard, Brittany, in the Diocese of Vannes. Candida Maria De Jesus
Cándida María de Jesús (31 May 1845 – 9 August 1912) – born Juana Josefa Cipitria y Barriola – was a Spanish people, Spanish nun and the founder of the Daughters of Jesus (Spain), Daughters of Jesus. The order - founded in 1871 - was under Jesuit direction from her Spiritual direction, spiritual director and was involved with the education of children in Salamanca though expanded during her lifetime. Barriola was canonized as a saint on 17 October 2010. Life Juana Josefa Cipitria y Barriola was born in mid-1845 as the eldest of seven children to the weavers Juan Miguel Cipitria and María Jesús Barriola. Her father was a weaver. Rather than attend school she helped look after her siblings because she was the eldest child. Pototan, Iloilo
Pototan ( krj, Banwa ka Pototan, hil, Banwa sang Pototan, tgl, Bayan ng Pototan), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 78,298 people. The town lies on the banks of the Suage River, north from Iloilo City. Jaro, Iloilo City
Jaro (; ) is a district of Iloilo City in the Philippine province of Iloilo on Panay Island in the Western Visayas region. It is the largest in terms of area and population of Iloilo City's seven districts, with 130,700 people in the 2020 census. Once a separate city, Jaro merged with Iloilo City when it was re-incorporated in the 1940s during the American administration in the Philippines.
