Colegio Pestalozzi (also the Colegio Suizo del Perú or german: Schweizer Schule Lima) is a Swiss international school in Miraflores District, Lima, Peru. It serves levels Vorkindergarten (preschool) through Sekundarstufe II (senior high school). The school first opened in 1943 on leased property at Zela 205, San Isidro, Bosque El Olivar. The school was supposed to open in 1942 but the late arrival of the school's Swiss teacher, Dr. Conrad Huber, hampered by World War II, caused the opening to be delayed. Miraflores District, Lima
Miraflores is a district of the Lima Province in Peru. It is a residential and upscale shopping district south of downtown Lima. It is also one of the most affluent districts that make up the city of Lima. It has several hotels (including the Hilton, the JW Marriott, and the Belmond), restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and department stores. Miraflores is one of the main tourist destinations in Lima. Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi
Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi (, ; 12 January 1746 – 17 February 1827) was a Swiss pedagogue and educational reformer who exemplified Romanticism in his approach. He founded several educational institutions both in German- and French-speaking regions of Switzerland and wrote many works explaining his revolutionary modern principles of education. His motto was "Learning by head, hand and heart". Thanks to Pestalozzi, illiteracy in 18th-century Switzerland was overcome almost completely by 1830.
