Clurit-class Fast Attack Craft
The ''Clurit'' class are a class of domestically designed and built fast attack craft operated by the Indonesian Navy. Vessels of this class are named after indigenous weapons and swords used in Indonesia. History The ''Clurit'' class was built by PT Palindo Marine Shipyard, Tanjunguncang, Batam. The ''Clurit'' is named after a curved blade weapon native to the Madurese people of East Java. Another ship with the same specifications was commissioned by the Indonesian Navy in February 2012, named KRI ''Kujang'' 642. Two more had been commissioned by the end of 2013, with a total of nine planned by the end of 2014. Three of the new vessels are being constructed by PT Palindo Marine Shipyard, with nearby PT Citra Shipyard working on the fourth. Madura
Madura Island is an Indonesian island off the northeastern coast of Java. Alamang
Alamang (in Bugis language, sometimes Halamang or Lamang) or Sonri (in Makassarese language) is a sacred sword or cutlass of the Bugis and Makassarese people in Sulawesi, Indonesia. Description A sword with a flattened, heavy and deeply indented hilt. The blade's edge and back are straight and parallel. The back curves towards the edge at the point. The Alamang has a straight, plain scabbard with sometimes a small foot. The scabbard's mouth is somewhat broadened. Cultural The Alamang is a symbol of sovereignty, prosperity, and dignity of a kingdom. It is said that in the past the king would not leave his kingdom without his Alamang. KRI ''Alamang'' (644) is a of the Indonesian Navy. Commissioned in 2013, she is the fourth ship of her class. Specifications The vessel has a length of 44 meters, a draft of 8 meters, and a displacement of 238 tonnes with the maximum speed of 27 knots.
