Club Deportivo Municipal
Club Centro Deportivo Municipal, commonly known as Deportivo Municipal, is a Peruvian football club based in Lima, Peru. They are among Peru's most recognizable clubs and enjoy considerable popularity. The bulk of their success was won a few years after the club was founded in 1935. The club was a top-flight contender during this period and won four Primera División titles. The club suffered relegation three times in their history: 1967, 2000, and 2007. They have also been champions of the Segunda División on three occasions: 1968, 2006, and 2014, granting them promotion to the first division. In 2014, they won the Segunda División and they currently compete in the Primera División Peruana. Deportivo Municipal was one of the first Peruvian clubs to participate in a South American international football competition. Estadio Iván Elías Moreno
Estadio Iván Elías Moreno is a multi-purpose stadium in the Villa El Salvador District, Lima, Peru. It is currently used by football team Club Deportivo Municipal. The stadium holds 10,000 people. History The plot turf where the stadium now stands was used by local amateur teams for many years before the construction of the stadium. The stadium is named after Iván Elías Moreno who was a young man from Villa El Salvador who was stabbed to death while trying to defend a teenager from being robbed. During his third term, district mayor Michel Azcueta decided to name the stadium to honor the memory of Moreno who had been his student while he, the mayor, was a school teacher in the district. The inaugural game was between Defensor Villa del Mar and Guardia Republicana in the 2002 Peruvian Segunda Divisíon season in which the home team won by 4–0. José Gálvez FBC
José Gálvez FBC is a Peruvian football club based in Chimbote, Ancash. The club was founded in 1951 under the name Manuel Rivera after the famous Chimbote born footballer Manuel Rivera. The club was forced to change its name because the FPF did not allow clubs to be named after living people. Then on 11 November 1963 the club decided the new name would be José Gálvez FBC. More recently the club played in the Peruvian Second Division and finished as champions in 2011. Thus they were promoted back to the Torneo Descentralizado in the 2012 season only to be relegated on the 2013 and become the Peruvian team with the most relegations from the Peruvian First Division. Estadio Alberto Gallardo is a football stadium in the Rimac District of Lima, Peru, named after Alberto Gallardo, a former Peruvian football player and manager who played several years for Sporting Cristal. It is the home of football club Sporting Cristal. The stadium was built in the 1960s along the Rímac River for local football use and originally named Estadio San Martín de Porres. Many clubs playing in the Primera División, Segunda División, and district leagues of San Martín de Porres were among the many tenants the stadium had. In 1995, Sporting Cristal—one of the regular first division tenants of the stadium—decided to lease the venue from the Instituto Peruano del Deporte for 17 years. The Estadio de la UNMSM is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lima, Peru, belonging to the National University of San Marcos. It was inaugurated on May 13, 1951, with a seating capacity of 32,000 and covers an area of 48,782 m². The Alejandro Villanueva Stadium, popularly known as Matute, is a soccer stadium located in the Matute neighborhood of the La Victoria district in Lima, Peru. The venue is owned by Club Alianza Lima, and it is here that the club plays at home in the Peruvian Liga 1 and in international tournaments such as the Conmebol Libertadores or the Conmebol Sudamericana.
