Claudio Villa
Claudio Villa (born Claudio Pica; 1 January 1926 – 7 February 1987) was an Italian singer and actor. Biography Tenor Claudio Villa was born Claudio Pica in the Trastevere quarter of Rome in 1926. He recorded over 3000 songs, sold 45 million records, and appeared in 25 musicals during his career. His parents gave him the name "Claudio" in honor of Claudio Serio. Many songs made famous by Villa, like "'A Tazza 'E Cafe'," were recorded for the Fonit Cetra label. Villa died in 1987; on his gravestone are the words "Vita sei bella, morte fai schifo" (''"Life, you are fine; death, you stink"''). Together with Domenico Modugno Villa holds the record for the most wins at the Sanremo Music Festival, where he won the competition in 1955, 1957, 1962 and 1967. In 1963 he won the Festival di Napoli with the song "Jamme ja". He also sang at another Italian music competition, ''Canzonissima'', a television event shown on RAI from 1956 to 1974. Rocca di Papa (Roman Castles Romanesco: ) is a small town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio, Italy. It is one of the Castelli Romani about southeast of Rome on the Alban Hills. It is close to the other communes of Velletri, Rocca Priora, Monte Compatri, Grottaferrata, Albano and Marino. The program marked the television debut of Enzo Tortora, who was initially picked only to play the role of assistant of Silvana Pampanini, but after a few episodes, following the sudden departure of Pampanini became the main presenter.Aldo Grasso, Massimo Scaglioni. Carlo Buti
Carlo Buti (14 November 1902 – 16 November 1963) was an Italian interpreter of popular and folk music. He was known as "the Golden Voice of Italy", and was possibly the first superstar of Italian music in the twentieth century. He recorded 1574 songs during his career. Biography Buti was born in Florence, Italy. As a boy, he mastered the Tuscan folk song technique known as '' stornello''. He was soon being paid by other men to serenade their girlfriends. He received limited vocal training from Raoul Frazzi. He was featured on Italian radio. His first recording contract (1930) was with Edison-Bell Records. In 1934 he signed with Columbia Records. Buti has been called the Bing Crosby and the " Frank Sinatra of Italy", because of his preference for the popular songs of the day over the more operatic-type songs.
