Chris Campbell (diplomat)
Christopher John Campbell is a British diplomat who has served as the United Kingdom's ambassador to Ecuador since 13 October 2020. He also served as the ambassador to Nicaragua between 2011 and 2015 and the ambassador to the Dominican Republic between 2015 and 2020. Consular career Campbell joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1982 and started in the North America Department. In 1984, he moved to the Secretary of State's Private Office and the next year was placed to the UK Embassy in Khartoum as an economist. From 1988 he worked at the embassy in Dhaka and from 1992 at the embassy in Jakarta. Campbell served as the Ambassador to Nicaragua from 2011 to 2015. During the same period, his wife, Sharon Campbell, was the Ambassador to Costa Rica, making them one of the only married couples to ever be ambassadors to neighbouring countries. Sharon Campbell is a British diplomat who was the British Ambassador to Haiti until August 2020. From 2011 to 2015 she was the British Ambassador to Costa Rica. She and her husband, Chris Campbell, were the first married couple ever to be ambassadors to neighbouring countries. United Kingdom Ambassador To Nicaragua
The ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Nicaragua is the United Kingdom's foremost diplomatic representative in Nicaragua, and in charge of the UK's diplomatic mission in Managua. Until 1945, UK envoys to Guatemala were also accredited to Nicaragua (see List of ambassadors of the United Kingdom to Guatemala), but there were occasionally consular representatives in the country. From 1976 to 1991 and 2004 to 2011 the ambassador to Costa Rica was also accredited to Nicaragua. From 2011 to 2015 the UK had a separate ambassador to Nicaragua, although he was resident in Costa Rica (he was married to the ambassador to Costa Rica). ''The San Diego Union-Tribune'' is a metropolitan daily newspaper published in San Diego, California, that has run since 1868. Its name derives from a 1992 merger between the two major daily newspapers at the time, ''The San Diego Union'' and the ''San Diego Evening Tribune''. The name changed to ''U-T San Diego'' in 2012 but was changed again to ''The San Diego Union-Tribune'' in 2015. In 2015, it was acquired by Tribune Publishing. Death And State Funeral Of Elizabeth II
On 8 September 2022, at 15:10 BST, Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, and the longest-reigning British monarch, died of old age at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, at the age of 96. The Queen's death was publicly announced at 18:30. She was succeeded by her eldest son, Charles III. The Congress of the Dominican Republic ( es, Congreso de la República Dominicana) is the bicameral legislature of the government of the Dominican Republic, consisting of two houses, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. Both senators and deputies are chosen through direct election. There are no term limits for either chamber. As provided by the Dominican Constitution, each of the 178 members of the Chamber of Deputies represents a district and serves a four-year term. CARIFORUM
The Caribbean Forum (CARIFORUM) is a subgroup of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States and serves as a base for economic dialogue with the European Union. It was established in 1992. Its membership comprises the 15 Caribbean Community states, along with the Dominican Republic.
