The AIFF Elite Academy is the elite academy of the overall AIFF Academies. Started on 1 February 2013, the Elite Academy was started under a youth development project that was started between the AIFF and FIFA. The Elite Academy is the final frontier for players who train at the AIFF Regional Academies in various parts of India. History In September 2011, it was announced that both the All India Football Federation and FIFA would work together to set up various regional academies and one elite academy in India with the goal to develop footballers in the country. The first phase of planning would see regional academies starting in Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi. Floyd Pinto
Floyd Pinto (born 16 December 1986) is an Indian football coach. He is currently the assistant coach of Indian Super League club Odisha. He was an IT engineer before taking up football coaching as a career. Personal life Pinto grew up at Mumbai, India. He had his graduation in Information Technology from Don-Bosco Institute, Mumbai University at Kurla-Mumbai. The Youth League, also known as Hero Youth League for sponsorship reasons, is a system of youth football leagues that are managed, organised and controlled by the All India Football Federation. It consists of 3 age groups competitions: U17 (Elite Youth League), U15 (Junior League) and U13 (Sub-Junior League). History The league was founded as the I-League U19 in 2008 which was to give youth teams of the I-League a national league to play in as at that time the I-League youth teams only played in state youth leagues. Clubs fielded Under-19 teams. 16 teams were split into four groups of four with only one group containing only three teams. At the end of the season the top team from the group stage would move onto the final group stage with the other group winners and play each other once. Arthur Papastamatis (born 12 February 1980) is an Australian professional football manager who serves as manager of Newcastle Jets. Background & Education Papas began learning his coaching skills at the age of 16 while a player and started learning full-time after retiring as a player due to six knee operations at the age of 25. Papas chose to focus his efforts on obtaining the necessary qualifications to become a professional football coach. In 2008 Papas furthered his coaching education at a KNVB-run coaching course in Canberra. The India national under-23 football team represents India in international under-23 football and is controlled by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). A member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the team is eligible to compete in the Summer Olympic Games, the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, and the Asian Games, subject to qualification.
