Cholendra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana ( ne, चोलेन्द्र शम्शेर ज.ब.रा.) is a former chief justice of Nepal. He is the 29th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal. He has been appointed by President on the recommendation of Constitutional Council of Nepal and oathed by Bidhya Devi Bhandari, President of Nepal on 2 January 2019. Bidya Devi Bhandari (, ; born 19 June 1961) is a Nepali politician who is serving as the second and current president of Nepal. She formerly served as the minister of defence and minister of environment and population. She is the first woman to hold the office in the country. She served as the vice-chairperson of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) and was the chair of the All Nepal Women's Association before being elected president.
