"Chip Away the Stone" is a song performed by United States, American hard rock band Aerosmith. Written by Richard Supa, Richie Supa, a friend and sometime collaborator with the band, it was released in 1978 as the only single (music), single to support the band's live album ''Live! Bootleg''. It also appeared on the ''Cal Jam II'' live album, despite being the same recording from ''Live! Bootleg'' at Santa Monica.Davis, p. 328 The lyrics describe the narrator's attempt to seduce a beautiful woman who is "actin' like a prima donna [and] playin' so hard to get", and who is attracting the attention of men who compete for her attention: "while the boys all promenade." The live version that appears on ''Live! Bootleg'' was recorded in Santa Monica on April 8, 1978. ''Gems'' is a compilation album released by Aerosmith in 1988 under the label Columbia. It was the first compilation of studio material since 1980's ''Greatest Hits''. Pat Torpey
Patrick Allan Torpey (December 13, 1953 – February 7, 2018) was an American drummer and singer, best known as the drummer and backing vocalist for the rock band Mr. Big. As well as playing for other various singers and artists such as; John Parr, Belinda Carlisle, Robert Plant, Montrose, Richie Kotzen and The Knack. Torpey had also recorded with Impellitteri and Ted Nugent. Torpey died at age 64 on February 7, 2018, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Ricky Lynn Phillips (born October 7, 1951) is an American bass guitarist and a member of the rock band Styx since 2003, splitting duties with longtime bassist Chuck Panozzo. The New Bomb Turks are an American punk rock band formed at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, United States, in 1990. The founding members are Jim Weber, Eric Davidson, Bill Randt, and Matt Reber. Sam Brown replaced Bill Randt on drums in 1999. Early on their inspiration came from the Devil Dogs, Lazy Cowgirls, Union Carbide Productions, Didjits, and the Fluid. ''Go for the Throat'' is the tenth studio album recorded by the English rock band Humble Pie and the second with the new lineup including, guitarist and vocalist Steve Marriott, drummer Jerry Shirley, American bassist Anthony "Sooty" Jones and vocalist and guitarist, Bobby Tench from The Jeff Beck Group. Humble Pie are an English rock band formed by guitarist and singer Steve Marriott in Moreton, Essex, in 1969. They are known as one of the first supergroups of the late 1960s and found success in the early 1970s with songs such as " Black Coffee", " 30 Days in the Hole", " I Don't Need No Doctor", " Hot 'n' Nasty" and " Natural Born Bugie".
