Go For The Throat
''Go for the Throat'' is the tenth studio album recorded by the English rock band Humble Pie and the second with the new lineup including, guitarist and vocalist Steve Marriott, drummer Jerry Shirley, American bassist Anthony "Sooty" Jones and vocalist and guitarist, Bobby Tench from The Jeff Beck Group. Marriott also brought in backing vocalists Marge Raymond, Dana Kral and Robin Beck, once again looking for a more authenthic and refined R&B sound and feel. ''Go For The Throat'' was released by Atco in 1981 and the new version of "Tin Soldier" reached #58 in the US single charts. The band toured the album after it had been released. At the beginning of the tour scheduled appearances by the band were delayed when Marriott damage his hand. He then later became ill, forcing the cancellation of all further tour dates. Humble Pie
Humble Pie are an English rock band formed by guitarist and singer Steve Marriott in Moreton, Essex, in 1969. They are known as one of the first supergroups of the late 1960s and found success in the early 1970s with songs such as " Black Coffee", " 30 Days in the Hole", " I Don't Need No Doctor", "Hot 'n' Nasty" and " Natural Born Bugie". Robin Beck
Robin Beck is an American singer. She topped the singles chart in the United Kingdom in 1988, and Austria, Germany, Norway, Netherlands and Switzerland in 1989, with her single " First Time", which had come to the public's attention via its use in a Coca-Cola commercial. Other well-known songs of hers are "Save Up All Your Tears", "In My Heart to Stay", "Tears in the Rain" and "Close to You". Robert Tench (born 21 September 1944) is a British vocalist, guitarist, sideman, songwriter and arranger. Tench is best known for his work with Freddie King and Van Morrison, as well as being a member of The Jeff Beck Group, Humble Pie, Streetwalkers and Van Morrison band. He is also associated with Hummingbird and Gass, as a founding member. At the start of his career he performed and recorded with The Gass and also appeared with Gonzalez, before joining the Jeff Beck Group. Written by Richard Supa, Richie Supa, a friend and sometime collaborator with the band, it was released in 1978 as the only single (music), single to support the band's live album ''Live! Bootleg''. Richard Supa
Richard "Richie" Supa (born Richard Goodman) is an American songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with Aerosmith, The Rascals and Richie Sambora. Supa released several albums under his own name, including ''Supa's Jamboree'' (1971, Paramount 6009), ''Homespun'' (1972, Paramount PAS 6027), ''Lifelines'' (1976, Epic PE34277) and ''Tall Tales'' (1978, Polydor PD-1-6155). Richard's song "Stone County Wanted Man", which appeared on the ''Supa's Jamboree'' album, was recorded by Johnny Winter for his '' Saints & Sinners'' album. Ronnie Lane
Ronald Frederick Lane (1 April 1946 – 4 June 1997) was an English musician and songwriter who is best known as the bass guitarist and founding member of Small Faces (1965–69) and subsequently Faces (1969–73). Lane formed Small Faces in 1965 after meeting Steve Marriott, with whom he subsquently wrote many of their hit singles including " All or Nothing", "Itchycoo Park" and " Lazy Sunday". After Marriott left Small Faces in 1968, bandmembers Lane, Ian McLagan and Kenny Jones were joined by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood to form Faces. Like Small Faces, the band achieved critical and commercial success. Lane quit the Faces in 1973 and subsequently collaborated with other musicians, leading his own bands and pursuing a solo career. The song peaked at number nine in the UK singles chart and number 38 in Canada. It has since been covered by many other notable rock artists. Song profile ''Tin Soldier'' was originally written by Steve Marriott for singer P.P. Arnold, but Marriott liked it so much he kept it himself.
