Chinese Horror Film
Chinese horror include films from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan that are part of the stream of Asian horror films. Like Korean and Japanese horror as well as other Asian horror films, many focus on ghosts ( yurei is also very common), supernatural environments, and suffering. Perhaps one of the best films for C-horror is '' The Eye'' directed by the Pang brothers which was later remade. There is also some comedy elements such as ''Bio Zombie'', ''Troublesome Night'' film series, ''The Vampire Who Admires Me'', and ''My Left Eye Sees Ghosts''. Jiangshi Jiangshi fiction, revolving around the hopping vampire or zombie, is a subgenre of Chinese horror. A staple genre of Hong Kong cinema, jiangshi films blend horror with elements of comedy. Bunshinsaba (2004 Film)
''Bunshinsaba'' () is a 2004 South Korean horror film directed by Ahn Byeong-ki. In 2004, it screened at the 8th annual Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival. The film had its American premiere at the 2005 New York Korean Film Festival, and was shown later that year at the 5th annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival. In 2012 Ahn Byeong-ki directed a Chinese film also titled '' Bunshinsaba'' but with an unrelated plot. Plot Lee Yoo-jin is a transfer student from Seoul who is usually bullied and picked on by her classmates, except for two girls, who become her friends and are often bullied as well as a result. One night, Yoo-jin and her friends decide to place a curse on their bullies by creating an Ouija board on which they write the names of the female bullies. ''The House That Never Dies'' () is a 2014 Chinese 3D thriller film directed by Raymond Yip. The story is based on that of a purportedly haunted mansion, Chaonei No. 81, which is located on No.81 Chaoyangmen Inner Street in Beijing, China. The Chaonei No. 81 was a three-story French Baroque-style house which was built in the 1800s by Qing officials.
