Chilukki Stakes
The Chilukki Stakes is a Graded stakes race, Grade III American thoroughbred horse race for Filly, fillies and Mare (horse), mares age three and older over a distance of one mile on the dirt held annually in November at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky during the fall meeting. It currently offers a purse of $300,000. History The inaugural running of the event was on 1 November 1986 as the Churchill Downs Budweiser Breeders' Cup Handicap at a distance of seven furlongs and was won by James J. Devaney's three-year-old filly Lazer Show who started as the 4/5 odds-on favorite winning by lengths ono a fast track in a time of 1:22. Churchill Downs
Churchill Downs is a horse racing complex located on Central Avenue in south Louisville, Kentucky, United States, famed for hosting the annual Kentucky Derby. It officially opened in 1875 and was named for Samuel Churchill, whose family was prominent in Kentucky for many years. Pat Day
Patrick Alan "Pat" Day (born October 13, 1953, in Brush, Colorado) is a retired American jockey. He is a four-time winner of the Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey and was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Day won nine Triple Crown races and 12 Breeders' Cup races. He was once the leader for career Breeders' Cup wins though he was later surpassed as the events were expanded after he retired. Pat Day retired in 2005 with 8,803 wins (ranked fourth all-time) and as the all-time leading jockey in money earned. Channing Hill (born August 22, 1987 in Grand Island, Nebraska) is an American jockey in American Thoroughbred horse racing. Hill began riding horses when he was 16 years old.
