Chihuahua Engine is a Engine factory in Chihuahua City, Mexico owned by Ford Motor Company. The plant opened in 1983, encompasses 247 acres, and as of 2010 employs 1,264 workers. In the past it has built Ford Penta and Zetec engines but currently builds 2.0 L, 2.0 L HEV, 2.5 L and 2.5 L HEV versions of the Duratec I4. In 2010 the factory added capacity and began building the 6.7 L Power Stroke Diesel used in Ford Super Duty trucks and the 4.4 L diesel V8 for Land Rover. Ford Duratec Engine
Duratec is a brand name of the Ford Motor Company used for the company's range of gasoline-powered four-cylinder, five-cylinder and six-cylinder passenger car engines. The original 1993 Duratec V6 engine was designed by Ford and Porsche. Ford first introduced this engine in the Ford Mondeo. Ford Power Stroke Engine
Power Stroke is the name used by a family of diesel engines for trucks produced by Ford Motor Company and Navistar International (until 2010) for Ford products since 1994. Along with its use in the Ford F-Series (including the Ford Super Duty trucks), applications include the Ford E-Series, Ford Excursion, and Ford LCF commercial truck. The name was also used for a diesel engine used in South American production of the Ford Ranger. From 1994, the Power Stroke engine family existed as a re-branding of engines produced by Navistar International, sharing engines with its medium-duty truck lines. The Ford HSC engine is an automobile gasoline engine from Ford Motor Company sold from 1984 until 1994. ''HSC'' stands for High Swirl Combustion. Ford Zeta Engine
Developed in the late 1980s by the Ford Motor Company, the Ford Zeta engine was a straight-4, double overhead cam internal combustion engine with which Ford had intended to replace the analogous Pinto and CVH models. Ford designed the Zeta to share some parts with other Ford engine developments at the time, including the smaller '' Sigma'' I-4 and larger ''Duratec'' V6. This engine shares its bore and stroke dimensions with the 2-valve CVH engine. Ford Power Products sells the Zeta in 1.8 L and 2.0 L versions as the MVH. List Of Ford Factories
The following is a list of current, former, and confirmed future facilities of Ford Motor Company for manufacturing automobiles and other components. Per regulations, the factory is encoded into each vehicle's VIN as character 11 for North American models, and character 8 for European models. The River Rouge Complex manufactured most of the components of Ford vehicles, starting with the Model T. Much of the production was devoted to compiling "knock-down kits" that were then shipped in wooden crates to Branch Assembly locations across the United States by railroad and assembled locally, using local supplies as necessary. A few of the original Branch Assembly locations still remain while most have been repurposed or have been demolished and the land reused. Knock-down kits were also shipped internationally until the River Rouge approach was duplicated in Europe and Asia.
