''CJ7'' () is a 2008 Hong Kong–Chinese comic science fiction film co-written, co-produced, starring, and directed by Stephen Chow. It was released on January 31, 2008, in Hong Kong. It was also released on March 14, 2008, in the United States. In August 2007 the film was given the title ''CJ7'', a play on China's successful Shenzhou crewed space missions—Shenzhou 5 and Shenzhou 6. It was previously known by a series of working titles—''Alien'', ''Yangtze River VII'', ''Long River 7'' and most notably, ''A Hope''. The title probably refers to the Chinese name of the Yangtze River, which is Changjiang. ''CJ7'' was filmed in Ningbo, in the Zhejiang province of China. Plot Chow Ti is a poor construction worker. Stephen Chow Sing-chi (, born 22 June 1962), known professionally as Stephen Chow, is a Hong Kong filmmaker, former actor and comedian, known for ''Shaolin Soccer'' and ''Kung Fu Hustle''. Early life and education Stephen Chow was born in British Hong Kong, Hong Kong on 22 June 1962 to Ling Po-yee (), an alumna of Guangzhou Normal University, and Chow Yik-sheung (), an immigrant from Ningbo, Zhejiang. Science fiction comedy (sci-fi comedy) or comic science fiction is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that exploits the science-fiction (SF) genre's conventions for comedy, comedic effect. Paul Mazzolini (born 18 February 1960), known by his stage name Gazebo, is an Italian singer, songwriter, musician and record producer best known for his italo disco music style during the 1980s. His song "I Like Chopin" reached No. 1 in more than 15 countries, and his debut single " Masterpiece" was also an international success. Early life Mazzolini was born in Beirut, Lebanon, where his father was working as a diplomat in the Italian embassy. Shenzhou 7 () was the third human spaceflight mission of the Chinese space program. The mission, which included the first Chinese extra-vehicular activity (EVA) carried out by crew members Zhai Zhigang and Liu Boming, marked the commencement of the second phase of the Chinese government's Project 921. The Shenzhou spacecraft carrying the three crew members was launched 25 September 2008, by a Long March 2F (CZ-2F) rocket which lifted off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 21:10 CST. The mission lasted three days, after which the craft landed safely in Siziwang Banner in central Inner Mongolia on 28 September 2008, at 17:37 CST.
