Chennai ITIR
The Chennai ITIR or "Information Technology Investment Region" is a planned mega city covering an area of about 1,600 km2 (395,368.61 acre). It will be a specifically notified zone that will include IT/BPOs, electronics hardware manufacturing units, public utilities, residential areas, social infrastructure and administrative units. The ITIR is bordered by IT corridor and NH4. The NH45 runs through the heart of the proposed city. State Highway 49A (SH-49A) also known as Rajiv Gandhi Salai and Rajiv Gandhi IT Expressway or just IT Expressway is a major road connecting Chennai, Tamil Nadu with Mahabalipuram in Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu. It is 45 km long and was earlier known as the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). The road starts from Madhya Kailash Temple on Sardar Patel Road in South-East Chennai and terminates on East Coast Road near Mahabalipuram. National Highway 4 (India, Old Numbering)
National Highway 4 (NH 4) was a major National Highway before National Highway renumbering in Western and Southern India. NH 4 linked four of the 10 most populous Indian cities – Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai. NH 4 was in length and passed through the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Route NH 4 constituted roughly 90% of the Golden Quadrilateral's Mumbai–Chennai segment. As a part of this project NH 4 has been widened from two-lane single carriageway to four-lane dual carriageway. The highway is known as Pune–Bangalore (PB) Road in some parts of Karnataka where it passes through. The Mumbai–Pune section of the highway was supplemented by the Mumbai–Pune Expressway in 2000. Mamallapuram
Mamallapuram, also known as Mahabalipuram, is a town in Chengalpattu district in the southeastern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, best known for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of 7th- and 8th-century Hindu Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram. It is one of the famous tourist sites in India. The ancient name of the place is Thirukadalmallai. Mamallapuram was one of two major port cities in the Pallava kingdom. The town was named after Pallava king Narasimhavarman I, who was also known as Mamalla. Along with economic prosperity, it became the site of a group of royal monuments, many carved out of the living rock. Mass Rapid Transit System (Chennai)
The Chennai Mass Rapid Transit System, a state-owned subsidiary of Indian Railways, is a metropolitan elevated railway line in Chennai, India. Operated by the Southern Railways, it is the first elevated railway line in India and also the country's longest elevated corridor spanning 17 km. Although it is segregated from the Chennai Suburban Railway, they both are operated by Southern Railway and are integrated in a wider urban rail network. Built at a cost of 15,710 million, the line runs within the city limits from Chennai Beach to Velachery, covering a distance of with 18 stations, with an average daily ridership of 100,000 commuters. Anna Nagar (formerly known as Naduvakkarai), is a neighbourhood in the metropolitan city of Chennai, India. Named after former chief minister of Tamil Nadu C. N. National Highway 4, or NH 4, is the major highway in the Indian union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is 230.7 km in length.
