Chen Yu (badminton)
Chen Yu (born 8 May 1980) is a former Chinese badminton player from Nanning, Guangxi. Career Chen had joined the Guangxi team in 1993, and was selected to join the national team in 1998. Chen won the men's singles title at the Chinese National Championships in 2002 and 2003. On the international badminton circuit he won the 2006 Thailand Open by defeating two fellow countrymen (and two fellow "Chens"), Chen Hong in the semifinals, and Chen Jin in a very close final. Outside of that victory he has had trouble breaking through, but has been runner-up in the Denmark (2003, 2006), Singapore (2003, 2007), and German Opens (2007), and at the prestigious All-England Championships in 2007. He was also part of the national men's team that won the 2001 Asia Cup, and at the Thomas Cup in 2004 and 2008. Singapore Open (badminton)
The Singapore Open is a badminton event that has been held in Singapore annually since 1929. Badminton World Federation categorized Singapore Open as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2018. In 2023, the tournament will be upgraded to a Super 750 event. In 1929, the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) was established to promote the sport and organise competitions. Its first official annual open championships was held in that same year with the best players chosen to represent Singapore in the regional tournaments. In 1957, it became an open invitation championships and was held annually until 1973. Denmark Open
The Denmark Open, or formerly known as Danish Open, is an annual badminton tournament held in Denmark and organized by Badminton Denmark. The Denmark Open was part of the BWF Super Series Premier from 2011 to 2017. BWF categorised it as one of the five BWF World Tour Super 750 events per the BWF events structure since 2018. Chen Jin (badminton)
Chen Jin (born 10 January 1986) is a retired badminton player from China. He is a former world men's singles champion and an Olympic bronze medalist. He also served as women's singles coach of the China national badminton team. Career 2004–2008 Since winning the Asian Junior Championships in 2004, Chen developed into one of the world's elite men's singles players. His titles include the 2004 Polish International, 2004 French International, 2006 German Open, 2007 Swiss Open, and 2007 Macau Open. Chen also captured the China Masters title in 2006, and in 2008 he won his biggest title to date, the prestigious All England Open Badminton Championships over his teammate and then-world number one, Lin Dan. Chen Hong (badminton)
Chen Hong (; born November 28, 1979 in Changting County, Fujian) is a former Chinese badminton player. Career During the first several years of the 21st century Chen rated among the world's leading singles players, achieving a number one world ranking in 2002–2003. He won the Swedish Open and the Asian Championships in 1999 as a nineteen-year-old. His subsequent titles included the Dutch (2000), Singapore (2002, 2003), Denmark (2002, 2006), Malaysia (2003), China (2005, 2006), and Thailand (2007) Opens. The 1998 Asian Junior Badminton Championships is an Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. This tournament were held at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 15-21 June 1998. Medalists China boys' and girls' team sweep the title after beat Malaysia 3–2 and South Korea 5–0 respectively. The Indonesian and Taiwanese boys' and girls' finished in third place. 1999 Asian Junior Badminton Championships
The 1999 Asian Junior Badminton Championships were held in Yangon, Myanmar from 11–17 July. This tournament organized by the Asian Badminton Confederation, and there were 24 countries and regions with more than 350 players and officials participated in the Championships.
