Chelamala, Malappuram
Chelamala is a hilly village in Malappuram district in Kerala. It is located about east of the city of Malappuram. Education The village is the planned site of the Malappuram campus of Aligarh Muslim University; construction is ongoing at the site. AMU Malappuram Centre started functioning at Chelamala in 2011. Culture Chelamala village is a predominantly Muslim populated area. Hindus exist in comparatively smaller numbers. So the culture of the locality is based upon Muslim traditions. Duff Muttu, Kolkali and Aravanamuttu are common folk arts of this locality. There are many libraries attached to mosques giving a rich source of Islamic studies. Most of the books are written in Arabi-Malayalam which is a version of the Malayalam language written in Arabic script. People gather in mosques for the evening prayer and continue to sit there after the prayers discussing social and cultural issues. Manjeri () is a major town and municipality in Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is the fourth-most populous municipality in state. Arabic Script
The Arabic script is the writing system used for Arabic and several other languages of Asia and Africa.
