Chart Hills Golf Club
Chart Hills Golf Club is a championship golf club in England, located in Biddenden, Kent. History The golf course at Chart Hills was designed by English golf great Sir Nick Faldo and Steve Smyers. They created a big and attractive golf course, with acres of water and sand designed to challenge the very best of golfers. Smyers said: "You feel a great course, it thrills you and sometimes frightens you. But in the end, it will challenge the best in you." Opened in 1993, while Faldo was still an active player, it was his first design in Europe. Chart Hills has regularly played host to a number of high-profile golf events. Biddenden
Biddenden is a large, mostly agricultural and wooded village and civil parish in the borough of Ashford in Kent, England. The village lies on the Weald of Kent, some north of Tenterden. It was a centre for the Wealden iron industry and also of clothmaking. The parish includes the hamlet of Woolpack Corner (). Origin of Name The place name of Biddenden is derived from the Kentish dialect of Old English, meaning "Bidda's woodland pasture". Ladies European Tour
The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally. 2007 Ladies European Tour
The 2007 Ladies European Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from January through December 2007. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour featured 24 official money events with prize money totalling more than €10.5 million, as well as the Women's World Cup of Golf and the biannual Solheim Cup. Sophie Gustafson won the Order of Merit with earnings of €222,081.47, while Bettina Hauert was voted Player's Player of the Year.
