Channel 9 Bangladesh
Channel 9 ( bn, চ্যানেল নাইন) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Virgo Media Limited. Based in the Panthapath neighborhood of Dhaka, the channel began broadcasting on 30 January 2012. The channel airs sports and entertainment programming, and formerly aired news until the closure of its news division in 2019. It had the rights to broadcast the Bangladesh Premier League and La Liga. History The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission granted Channel 9 a license to broadcast among other privately owned Bangladeshi television channels on 20 October 2009. It commenced test transmissions on 8 April 2011, and officially began broadcasting on 30 January 2012. On 14 April 2012, the channel launched on Sky in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it replaced NTV. The channel was broadcast free-to-air on Eutelsat 28A. Around 45 privately owned television channels were permitted by the Government of Bangladesh as of 2019, of which thirty four are currently on air. Syed Nazrul Islam
Syed Nazrul Islam ( bn, সৈয়দ নজরুল ইসলাম, Soiyod Nozrul Islam; 1925 – 3 November 1975) was a Bangladeshi politician and a senior leader of the Awami League. During the Bangladesh Liberation War, he was declared as the Vice President of Bangladesh by the Provisional Government. He served as the Acting President in the absence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Early life Syed Nazrul Islam was born in 1925, into a Bengali Muslim family of Syeds in the village of Bir Dampara, Jashodal Union in Kishoreganj (then Mymensingh District) of the Bengal Presidency. Bachelor Point is a Bangladeshi comedy drama series, started at 4 August 2018 which is aired on Channel Nine.
