Championnet Sports (basketball)
Championnet Sports is a French basketball club based in Paris. This is one of many sections of the sports club ''Championnet Sports'' whose socio-educational and cultural activities as well as the very important real estate is managed by a third association, the ''Association Championnet''. The club is best known for its good performance in the championship of France basketball from 1940, counting among its members several prominent players. History In 1891 Championnet founded in the parish "St. Genevieve Great Careers." Various activities are pushing to declare in 1907 a multi-sports association affiliated to the Sports Championnet FGSPF. It was not until 1914 to identify the first game of basketball. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. The LNB Pro B, commonly known as Pro B, is the French basketball league system, 2nd-tier level men's professional basketball league in France. It is the second division of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB), which has organized the league since the year 1987.
