''Cemetery Hill'', subtitled "The Battle of Gettysburg, 1–3 July 1863", is a board wargame published by Simulations Publications, Inc. (SPI) in 1975 as part of the "quadrigame" '' Blue & Gray: Four American Civil War Battles'' that simulated four battles of the American Civil War. ''Cemetery Hill'' was later released as a stand-alone "folio" game. Description ''Cemetery Hill'' is a division-level simulation of the Battle of Gettysburg, using simplified rules that had been developed for an earlier SPI game, ''Napoleon at Waterloo''. ''Fire & Movement: The Forum of Conflict Simulation'' was a magazine devoted to wargames, both traditional board wargames and computer wargames. It was founded by Rodger MacGowan in 1975, and began publication the following year. In February 1982, Fire & Movement was acquired by Steve Jackson Games. In January 1985 the magazine was sold again to Diverse Talents Inc. (DTI). In 1988, World Wide Wargames (also known as 3W) acquired Diverse Talents Inc. (DTI), publisher of ''Fire & Movement'', ''Battleplan'' and ''Space Gamer'', leading to a complete merger of the two companies. 3W then continued on to publish four gaming magazines simultaneously. Pickett's Charge
Pickett's Charge (July 3, 1863), also known as the Pickett–Pettigrew–Trimble Charge, was an infantry assault ordered by Confederate General Robert E. Lee against Major General George G. Meade's Union positions on the last day of the Battle of Gettysburg in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the Civil War. Confederate troops made a frontal assault towards the center of Union lines, ultimately being repulsed with heavy casualties. Suffering from a lack of preparation and problems from the onset, the attack was a costly mistake that decisively ended Lee's invasion of the north and forced a retreat back to Virginia. The charge is popularly named after Major General George Pickett, one of three Confederate generals (all under the command of Lieutenant General James Longstreet) who led the assault. Their flagship magazine ''Strategy & Tactics'' (''S&T''), was a military history magazine featuring a new wargame in each issue. While S&T was devoted to historical articles, ''Moves'' focused on the play of the games. Each issue carried articles dealing with strategies for different wargames, tactical tips, and many variants and scenarios for existing games.
