History Cedar Creek Township was established in 1839. The Buckley Homestead was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The township includes most of the town of Lowell, as well the Census-designated Place Lake Dalecarlia. The name comes from the English name of the Dalarna region of Sweden. The community is centered on the lake of the same name, which was completed in the 1920s. Buckley Homestead Living History Farm is a county park and historical museum located at Lowell, Indiana. The park is open from 7 a.m. to sunset year round. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The park is operated by Lake County Parks. History The Buckleys were Irish immigrants who moved to the United States in the mid-18th century.
