Catholic Central High School (London)
Catholic Central High School (CCH) in London, was Ontario's first Jr. Catholic High School, opened with grades 7 to 13 in September 1950. The new building was a Junior High School with grades 7 to 10. The original building on site was formerly known as Sacred Heart Convent and it housed 11, 12, 13 for a number of years but dropped grades 7, 8 when enrolment in grades 9 & 10 increased. CCH is administered by the London District Catholic School Board. The school has a wider range of programs than other London region high schools, such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Environmental Leadership Program, English as a Second Language program and the Music Extension program, which mostly caters to graduates of St. Mary Choir School. London (pronounced ) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census. John Ferris (Ontario Politician)
John P. Ferris (June 29, 1933 - September 27, 2015) was a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1975 to 1977 who represented the central Ontario riding of London South. He was also a long time school board trustee who served as chair of London school boards in 1975 and again in 1986. Ryan Thelwell (born April 6, 1973) is a Jamaican-Canadian former professional wide receiver of American football and Canadian football. Thelwell was originally drafted 9th overall by the Lions in the 1998 CFL Draft and by the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League in the 1998 NFL Draft in the seventh round with the 215th overall pick. Brendan Frederick Shanahan (born January 23, 1969) is a Canadian professional ice hockey executive and former player who currently serves as the president and alternate governor for the Toronto Maple Leafs, having previously served as the director of player safety for the National Hockey League (NHL). Peter Howard is an English rock drummer. He was a member of the Clash from 1983 until 1986. Career The Clash (1983–86) Howard joined the Clash in spring 1983. Drummer Topper Headon had been fired the previous year – shortly before the release of the album ''Combat Rock'' – owing to the effects of his heroin addiction on the band. Anne Marie DeCicco-Best (born April 1964) was the 60th and longest-serving mayor of London, Ontario, Canada. Early life and family DeCicco graduated from Fanshawe College's broadcast journalism program in 1986 and worked for CHYR in Leamington, Ontario, before returning in 1987 to work at CJBK and CJBX, a country music station in London as a reporter covering city hall.
