Catherine Beattie (bowls)
Catherine Beattie (née Catherine McMillen, born 1981) is a Northern Irish international lawn & indoor bowler. Bowls career Beattie represented a combined Ireland under her maiden name of Catherine McMillen and won the singles gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. She also represented Northern Ireland during the 2014 Commonwealth Games before she was married. McMillen lost in the bronze medal play off in the singles at the 2014 Commonwealth Games to Colleen Piketh. In 2015 she won the singles gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. In 2017, she won three medals at the European Bowls Championships and one year later was selected as part of the Northern Ireland team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Queensland. 2018 Commonwealth Games
The 2018 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXI Commonwealth Games and also known as Gold Coast 2018, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that were held on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, between 4 and 15 April 2018. 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship
The 2020 World Outdoor Bowls Championship was to be the 14th edition of the World Championships to be held at the Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. There were to be eight events that determined the 2021 world champions, the men's singles, doubles, triples and fours and the women's singles, doubles, triples and fours and in addition there are two overall team winners who receive the Leonard and Taylor trophies respectively. It was originally scheduled from 23 May to 7 June 2020 but the event was officially cancelled on 9 March 2021. Colleen Piketh (' Webb; born 26 December 1972) is a South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career In 2007 she won the singles gold medal at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. In 2011 she won the pairs and fours silver medals at the Atlantic Bowls Championships. Piketh competed in the women's pairs and the women's singles events at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won a gold and bronze medal respectively. She won a gold medal in the women's pairs at the World Bowls Atlantic Bowls Championships in Cyprus in 2015, together with Nici Neal. Piketh also competed in the singles format at the same tournament, losing to Guernsey's Lucy Beere 21-15 in the medal playoff game.
