Catalonia National Basketball Team
The Catalonia autonomous basketball team is the basketball team of Catalonia. The team is not affiliated to FIBA, so only plays friendly games. Last appear was in summer 2010, in the Torneo de las Naciones. Catalonia won this tournament. History Catalonia started to play in 1927 a friendly game against Hindú Club of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Catalonia lost by 50–16. From 1929 to 1936, the team played several friendly games with another European regions. In April 1980, Catalonia plays several games against Basque Country, and other games against important teams like the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia or Yugoslavia. In 1992, Catalonia played a game against Croatia; Croatia won by 118-82 led with 30 points of Toni Kukoč and 21 point of Dražen Petrović. Juan Carlos Navarro (basketball)
Juan Carlos Navarro Feijoo, commonly known as either Juan Carlos Navarro or J. C. Navarro (born June 13, 1980), is a Spanish former professional basketball player. During his playing career, at a height of tall, he played at the shooting guard position. On March 14, 2014, he was named a EuroLeague Basketball Legend. He is the current team manager of FC Barcelona Bàsquet. During his pro club career, Navarro was a two-time EuroLeague champion, in 2003 and 2010. He was also named the EuroLeague MVP in 2009, the EuroLeague Final Four MVP in 2010, and was selected as a member of the EuroLeague 2001–10 All-Decade Team. Rodolfo "Rudy" Fernández Farrés (; born 4 April 1985) is a Spanish professional basketball player for Real Madrid of the Liga ACB. He is a tall shooting guard and small forward. He is a three-time All-EuroLeague Team selection and won the EuroLeague title in 2015 and 2018. During his stint in the National Basketball Association (NBA), he was an NBA All-Rookie Second Team member. Fernández represents the senior Spain national team internationally. Marc Gasol
Marc Gasol Sáez (, ; born January 29, 1985) is a Spanish professional basketball player for Bàsquet Girona of the Liga ACB. The center is a two-time All-NBA Team member and a three-time NBA All-Star. He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2013, and won an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019. Gasol was drafted 48th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2007 NBA draft. Lugo
Lugo (, ; la, Lucus Augusti) is a city in northwestern Spain in the autonomous community of Galicia. It is the capital of the province of Lugo. Pavelló Girona-Fontajau is an indoor arena in Girona, Catalonia, northern Spain, that holds 5,500 people. It is primarily used for basketball and is the home arena of Uni Girona CB and Bàsquet Girona. The building was designed in 1993 by the architects Esteve Bonell and Josep M. Gil and was opened on September 4, 1993. It is structured in two levels, one for the public (the high level) and another, of which use is restricted to the sportsmen (the low level), with differentiated entries.
