Carl Damm (politician, Born 1927)
Carl Damm (February 2, 1927 – December 8, 1993) was a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and former member of the German Bundestag. Life Damm joined the CDU after 1945 and was deputy state chairman of the Hamburg CDU from 1968 to 1974. From 1953 to 1966 Damm was a member of the Hamburg State Parliament and was a member of the Hamburg-Block Parliamentary Group in the third legislative period (1953-1957). In the 1965 federal elections he was elected to the German Bundestag, of which he was a member until 1980. He had always entered parliament via the Hamburg state list. Bundestag
The Bundestag (, "Federal Diet") is the German federal parliament. It is the only federal representative body that is directly elected by the German people. It is comparable to the United States House of Representatives or the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The Bundestag was established by Title III of the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (, ) in 1949 as one of the legislative bodies of Germany and thus it is the historical successor to the earlier Reichstag. Koblenz (; Moselle Franconian language, Moselle Franconian: ''Kowelenz''), spelled Coblenz before 1926, is a German city on the banks of the Rhine and the Moselle, a multi-nation tributary.
