Carl Carl
Karl Andreas Bernbrunn (1787–1854), known by the stage name Carl Carl, was a Kraków-born actor and theatre director. Bernbrunn was born illegitimately to Maria Anna Alxinger and Karl Andrä Bernbrunn. Maria Anna was the wife of the poet (1755–1797), and daughter of army supplier Abraham Wetzlar, who converted to Catholicism in 1776. Bernbrunn became an actor in Munich with Carl Weinmüller. In 1822 Bernbrunn became the director of the in Munich, and in 1826 became the director of the Theater an der Wien in Vienna. In 1838 he bought the Theater in der Leopoldstadt which he ran in parallel to the Theater an der Wien until 1845. The Theater in der Leopoldstadt was demolished and rebuilt in 1847 under the name Carltheater. In Munich Bernbrunn married Margarethe Lang. Bernbrunn died from a recurrent stroke on at Bad Ischl. Joseph Lanzedelly The Elder
Joseph Lanzedelly the Elder (also Lancedelly; 6 February 1772 – 5 December 1831) was an Austrian lithographer. Life He was born in Cortina d'Ampezzo (now in northern Italy), the son of a watchmaker. His sons Karl (1815–1865) and Joseph (1807–1879) were also lithographers. The is a historic theatre in Vienna located on the Left Wienzeile in the Mariahilf district. Completed in 1801, the theatre has hosted the premieres of many celebrated works of theatre, opera, and symphonic music. Since 2006, it has served primarily as an opera house, hosting its own company. The Theater in der Josefstadt is a theater in Vienna in the eighth district of Josefstadt. It was founded in 1788 and is the oldest still performing theater in Vienna. It is often referred to colloquially as simply ''Die Josefstadt''. Bad Ischl (Austrian German ) is a spa town in Austria. It lies in the southern part of Upper Austria, at the Traun River in the centre of the Salzkammergut region. Stroke
A stroke is a medical condition in which poor blood flow to the brain causes cell death. There are two main types of stroke: ischemic, due to lack of blood flow, and hemorrhagic, due to bleeding. Both cause parts of the brain to stop functioning properly. Carltheater
The Carltheater was a theatre in Vienna. It was in the suburbs in Leopoldstadt at Praterstraße 31 (at that time called Jägerzeile). It was the successor to the Leopoldstädter Theater. After a series of financial difficulties, that theater had been sold in 1838 to the director, Carl Carl, who continued to run it in parallel to his Theater an der Wien until 1845. Two years later, the building was partially demolished and rebuilt following the plans of architects August Sicard von Sicardsburg and Eduard van der Nüll, who would later design the Vienna State Opera. The theatre was opened under the name ''Carltheater'' in the same year, 1847. Many pieces by Johann Nepomuk Nestroy premiered here; between 1854 and 1860, Nestroy was the director of the theatre. The Theater in der Leopoldstadt (also: Leopoldstädter Theater) was an opera house in the Leopoldstadt district of Vienna, founded in 1781 by Karl von Marinelli, following the ''Schauspielfreiheit'' (ending of the court's monopoly on entertainment) by Joseph II in 1776. The 19th-century summer stage called the Thaliatheater was also managed by the Leopoldstadt. In its early years, the theatre staged Singspiele and Possen mit Gesang, notably by the theatre's Kapellmeister Wenzel Müller and his assistant Ferdinand Kauer. Carl Friedrich Clemens Weinmüller (also Karl Weinmiller) (8 November 1764 – 16 March 1828) was an operatic bass and theatre director. A bass with the imperial court opera in Vienna, he is known for performing Rocco in the premiere of Beethoven's ''Fidelio''. Life Born in Dillingen an der Donau, Weinmüller received first musical instruction in the church choir of his hometown. He studied in Vienna. In 1783, he joined a travelling troupe that played in Wiener Neustadt, St. Pölten, Burg Haimburg and other small towns. In 1788, he moved to Ofen and Pest, where he was the first bass and the opera director. On 6 November 1796 he started with the Viennese imperial court opera, appearing as the pharmacist Stößel in Dittersdorf's '' Doktor und Apotheker''. Margarethe Carl was the stage name of Margarethe Bernbrunn (10 September 1788 – 16 July 1861), a German soprano and actress. Life Born Margarethe Lang in Munich, in the Electorate of Bavaria, she was the daughter of horn player Martin Lang (1755–1819) and actress and opera singer . She was trained as a soprano by Franz Danzi and was regarded as his best student. She made her debut in Munich in 1805 as Elvira in Peter von Winter's opera ''Das unterbrochene Opferfest''.
