Capital Curling Fall Open
The Capital Curling Fall Open (known as the Moosehead Fall Open for sponsorship reasons) is an annual bonspiel on the men's Ontario Curling Tour. It is held annually in September at the RCMP Curling Club in Ottawa, Ontario. A women's event was held from 2010 to 2013, and women have participated in the men's event in other years. Ontario Curling Tour
The Ontario Curling Tour is a group of curling bonspiels, which takes places in Ontario, Canada and attracts some of the top male and female curlers in the province, and from across the country and world. The OCT was designed to promote competitive curling from a grass root level. The events for the Ontario Curling Tour begin at the end of August and typically run until December, with occasional events taking place in January. Several of the events on the Ontario Curling Tour are also included in the World Curling Tour. All events on the Ontario Curling Tour, much like those on World Curling Tour, contain a prize purse for the winning teams, and award CTRS (Canadian Team Ranking System) points to the Canadian teams competing. CTRS points qualify teams for the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials and events such as the Canada Cup of Curling. Lauren Mann
Lauren Mann (born January 27, 1985) is a Canadian curler from Aylmer, Quebec. She currently skips her own team out of Ottawa, Ontario. Career As a junior curler, Mann was the 2002 Ontario Winter Games championship playing third for Laura Payne, and won a silver medal for Ontario at the 2003 Canada Winter Games. Also in 2003, she won the Ontario Junior Mixed Championship playing third for Chris Gardner. In 2005, she lost in the final of the Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships to Erin Morrissey. She was also the runner-up in 2006, losing to Lisa Farnell. In 2014, Mann moved to Quebec and entered the 2015 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts with teammates Amelie Blais, Brittany O'Rourke and Anne-Marie Filteau. She would win the event after posting an 8–2 round robin record, and defeating Roxane Perron in the final. Rachel Homan
Rachel Catherine Homan (born April 5, 1989) is a Canadian international curler. Homan is a former Canadian junior champion, a three-time Canadian national champion, and the 2017 world champion, all as a skip. She was also the skip of the Canadian women's curling team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. During her junior career, Homan competed in two Canadian Junior Curling Championships, placing second in 2009 and winning the championship in 2010. She also won a silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships. Jennifer Ann Hanna (born January 22, 1980) is a Canadian curler from Nepean, Ontario. She curls out of the Ottawa Curling Club. She was a finalist in both the 1998 Canadian Junior Curling Championship and the . Career Early competitive career Hanna competed at the 1998 Canadian Juniors, losing in the final to New Brunswick's Melissa McClure. Despite this, she was named as the tournament's second team all-star skip. In 2002, as a second for Anne Merklinger, Hanna finished second at the Ontario Championships. Jamie Ann Sinclair (born February 21, 1992) is an American-Canadian curler from Osgoode, Ontario and is a three-time U.S. National Champion. Her United States Curling Association membership is through the Charlotte Curling Association in Charlotte, North Carolina where she has a number of personal connections. Jason Camm (born November 3, 1994) is a Canadian curler from Rockland, Ontario. He currently plays lead on Team John Epping. Career Juniors In 2011, Camm won both the Ontario Bantam Boys Championship and the Ontario Bantam Mixed Championship, both as a skip. After Bantams, Camm formed a junior team with Aaron Squires as skip, and Camm throwing last rocks. The team won the 2013 Ontario Junior Championships and earned the right to represent the province at the 2013 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The team finished the event with a 7-3 record, tied with Manitoba's Matt Dunstone in third place. Mark Kean
Mark Kean (born June 22, 1988 in Innerkip, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Woodstock, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of Ottawa. Career Kean's junior career involved winning the provincial junior mixed title in 2009. Kean made a quick transition to men's curling winning the provincial Colts trophy in 2010 and in 2011 playing in his first provincial tournament. At the 2011 provincial championship, his rink finished with a 3-7 record. As preparation for the 2011 provincial, the Kean rink played in their first Grand Slam of Curling event, at the 2011 BDO Canadian Open of Curling, where they went winless (0-5). Jean-Michel Ménard
Jean-Michel Ménard (born January 19, 1976) is a curler from Aylmer, Quebec, Canada. Ménard is notable for being the first Francophone born skip from Quebec to win the Brier - Canada's national curling championship- which he did in 2006. In 2022 he won the World Mixed Curling Championship. Career While living in Aylmer, Quebec and playing in leagues at the Ottawa Curling Club and the Rideau Curling Club, Ménard also represents the Club de Curling Etchemin in Saint-Romuald, Quebec along with his team of Martin Crête, Éric Sylvain and brother Philippe Ménard.
