Cap Zebib
Cape Zebib (french: Cap Zebib; ar, رأس زبيب, ''Ras Zebib'') is a headland in northern Tunisia near the town of Metline. The bay between Cape Guardia and Cape Zebib has the sandy Skala Beach; Skala was also an ancient port. Bizerte stands on the lowest part of the coast, which thence gradually rises to the cape. Jebel Kshapta is to the south-west of the cape. Cape Zebib sits at the eastern extremity of Bizerte Road. Here, there are two cones high. Near the extremity of the cape, there is a small community. Cani Rocks, north/north-eastward from Cape Zebib, consist of two islets scarcely separated, extending 6 cables in a north-easterly and south-westerly direction, with outlying rocks and shoal patches. To the south-eastward of Cape Zebib, the coast is low with some cliffs and small beaches. Bizerte Governorate
Bizerte Governorate ( ar, ولاية بنزرت ' ) is the northernmost of the 24 governorates of Tunisia. It is in northern Tunisia, approximately rectangular and having a long north coast. It covers an area of 3,750 km² including two large lakes, one coastal hence saline and one freshwater being the World Heritage Site, Ichkeul lake. Its population was 568,219 as at the 2014 census. The capital is Bizerte which stands principally on inlet between Bizerte lake and the Mediterranean. The offshore Galite Islands are part of the governorate, as are the ruins of the ancient city of Utica. Metline
Metline ( aeb, الماتلين ) is a commune and town on the Mediterranean coast, in the Bizerte Governorate of northern Tunisia. As of 2004, it had a population of 7,370. It is located approximately north of Tunis, southeast of Bizerte and northwest of Ras Jebel. The commune of Metline occupies a peninsula extending between the mountains, the sea and the forest, with a coastline of more than . Cape Zebib is to the northeast. The commune was created on May 3, 1967. History Founded in the sixteenth century, there are traces also of a Roman city, Benvenutum, as well as ninth century strongholds from the times of the Aghlabids dynasty. Ras Jebel, also known as Ras el-Djebel, is a town, commune, and archaeological site on Cap Sidi in the Bizerte Governorate of Tunisia. The name of the city refers to the summit or end of the mountain, thus evoking the end of the Atlas Mountains. Geography Ras Jebel is set on a hill on Cap Sidi overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It has an altitude of . History During the Roman Empire the town, founded in the 3rd or 4th century, was a civitas of the Roman Province of Africa and was the seat of an ancient Christian bishopric, which survives today as a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
