Canal Panda (Spain)
Canal Panda was a Spanish pay television channel, which was one of the first country's subscription network dedicated to children's programming, mostly animated series. History Canal Panda was the first Portuguese and Spanish channel exclusively dedicated to children and teens. Its daily broadcast was 20 hours a day, without interruptions, and with a big variety of programs such as cartoons, anime, live-action series, children's films and special programs about sports, music and culture. It was founded on 1 April 1996 with the name ''Panda Club'' in Portugal, it changed to ''Canal Panda'' a year later. The channel launched in Spain on 15 September 1997 for the launch of Via Digital. Initially it was distributed in Spain, but on 1 January 2001, satellite provider Vía Digital stopped carrying the channel, justifying the strong competition in the Spanish market and was replaced by Megatrix, with distribution deal with Antena 3. Sundance TV (formerly known as Sundance Channel) is an American pay television channel owned by AMC Networks that launched on February 1, 1996. The channel is named after Robert Redford's character in ''Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid'' and, while it is an extension of Redford's non-profit Sundance Institute, the channel operates independently of both the Institute and the Sundance Film Festival. Originally, Sundance was devoted to airing documentaries, independent feature films, short films, world cinema, and coverage on the latest developments from each year's Sundance Film Festival. KidsCo
KidsCo was an international children's television channel founded and owned by a joint-venture between Corus Entertainment, DIC Entertainment, and Universal Networks International, Sparrowhawk Media Group in April 2007. By the end of 2007, Sparrowhawk was purchased by media conglomerate NBC Universal, thus giving the company its share in the brand. In June 2008, DiC Entertainment was acquired by Cookie Jar Group, thus also having a stake. In May 2012, Cookie Jar's minority shares in KidsCo were brought by NBCUniversal and Corus, which saw NBCUniversal become majority shareholder with a 51% share while Corus obtained a 43.8% share. Antena 3 is a Spanish terrestrial television channel part of Atresmedia Televisión, of which it is the flagship station. Its current headquarters are located in San Sebastián de los Reyes. Canals or artificial waterways are waterways or engineered channels built for drainage management (e.g. flood control and irrigation) or for conveyancing water transport vehicles (e.g. water taxi). They carry free, calm surface flow under atmospheric pressure, and can be thought of as artificial rivers.
