"Can't Wait Until Tonight" was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, performed in English and Turkish by Maximilian Mutzke. The song was written and composed by Stefan Raab, who previously had written both Guildo Horn's entry "Guildo hat euch lieb!" and his own "Wadde hadde dudde da?" in . Despite Germany having finished 11th at the 2003 contest and thus missing the automatic qualification that a top-ten berth would bring, the song was pre-qualified for the final as Germany (along with , and the ) was part of the "Big Four" and guaranteed a final placing at any contest. Maximilian Nepomuk Mutzke (born 21 May 1981) is a German singer, songwriter and television personality. He gained public interest in early 2004 when he won ''SSDSGPS'', a talent contest hosted in Stefan Raab's late-night show ''TV total''. Mutzke subsequently qualified for and won the national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, '' Germany 12 Points!'', and thus represented Germany with his debut single "Can't Wait Until Tonight" that year, eventually finishing eighth in a field of 24 participants. Meanwhile, "Can't Wait Until Tonight" debuted atop the German singles chart and became a top five hit in Austria and Switzerland. The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Without You" written by Ed van Otterdijk and Angeline van Otterdijk. The song was performed by the duo Re-union. The Dutch broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) organised the national final ''Nationaal Songfestival 2004'' in collaboration with broadcaster Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting (TROS) in order to select the Dutch entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey. 24 entries competed in the national final which consisted of six shows: four semi-finals, a wildcard round and a final. She rose to fame as a finalist on the debut season of the television series ''Deutschland sucht den Superstar'', the German ''Idol'' series adaptation, placing fifth. Sertab Erener (born 4 December 1964) is a Turkish singer, songwriter and composer. With her coloratura soprano voice, she started working as a backing vocalist for Sezen Aksu, and with Aksu's help she released her first studio album in the 1990s.
