Without You (Re-union Song)
The Netherlands participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Without You" written by Ed van Otterdijk and Angeline van Otterdijk. The song was performed by the duo Re-union. The Dutch broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) organised the national final ''Nationaal Songfestival 2004'' in collaboration with broadcaster Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting (TROS) in order to select the Dutch entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey. 24 entries competed in the national final which consisted of six shows: four semi-finals, a wildcard round and a final. Ten entries qualified from to compete in the final on 22 February 2004 where "Without You" performed by Re-union was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from a five-member jury panel and a public vote. Re-union (duo)
Re-union was a short-lived Dutch musical duo, known for representing the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song " Without You". It consisted of Dutch singer Paul de Corte (born 28 February 1979) and Italian-born Belgian singer and guitarist Fabrizio Pennisi (born 29 September 1979). History Pennisi was a founding member of the Dutch boy band All Of Us, formed in 1998, which De Corte joined in 2001. The band split up in late 2002, but De Corte and Pennisi remained friends and were offered the chance to perform the song " Without You" as a duo in the , the Dutch selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2004. Nationaal Songfestival
(; ) was an annual music competition, which was originally organised by the Dutch public broadcaster (NTS), and later by the (NOS) and (TROS). It was staged almost every year between 1956 and 2012 to determine the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. The festival has produced four Eurovision winners and eight top-five placings for the Netherlands at the contest. Due to declining interest in the competition and the Netherlands' poor performance in the Eurovision Song Contest in the late 2000s and early 2010s, it was decided that the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 would be internally selected. Alen J. Matković (born 20 July 1970), known professionally as Alan Michael, is a Yugoslav-born Polish-Dutch singer, songwriter and record producer. Seán Patrick Michael Sherrard (born 13 May 1954), better known by his stage name Johnny Logan, is an Irish singer and composer. The Netherlands was represented by Ruth Jacott, with the song "Vrede", at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Millstreet, Ireland on 15 May. The song was chosen at the Dutch national final on 26 March. Before Eurovision Nationaal Songfestival 1993 The final took place on 26 March 1993 at the Discothèque Escape in Amsterdam, hosted by Paul de Leeuw. Ruth Jacott
Ruth Jacott (born 2 September 1960) is a Surinamese-Dutch singer. Jacott transitioned from musical theatre to popular music in 1993, when she represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993. Her song, "Vrede" (Peace), was one of the favorites to win, and ended up ranking sixth out of 25 at Millstreet. Rob Stenders
Rob Stenders (born 18 April 1965) is a Dutch radio DJ. Stenders had a long-lasting career in radio starting with local radio stations. Stenders followed up Edwin Evers with the 3FM morning show "Stenders Vroeg" for the public radio and television company "VARA". In 2004 Stenders and his sidekicks moved to the commercial radio station "Yorin FM" and renamed his show "Stenders Vroeg Op". Cornald Maas is a Dutch television presenter who has been known for presenting talk shows in the Netherlands. He is the brother of Frans Maas.
