Cameron Chalmers
Cameron Christopher David Chalmers (born 6 February 1997) is a Guernsey born British track and field sprinter who specialises in the 400 metres. The Guernsey record-holder for the 400 metres, he currently competes for both Guernsey and Great Britain. Biography Early life and career Born in Guernsey, Chalmers was educated at Elizabeth College and began running with the local Guernsey Island Amateur Athletic Club in 2010. Chalmers competed in a variety of running events in 2013 before focusing on 400 m events from 2014 onwards. After leaving school, Chalmers secured a place at the University of Bath, where he would train under Dan Cossins. In 2015, Chalmers made his first junior appearance for Great Britain, competing in the under-20 4 × 400 m event at the Loughborough International. Guernsey
Guernsey (; Guernésiais: ''Guernési''; french: Guernesey) is an island in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy that is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a British Crown Dependency. It is the second largest of the Channel Islands, an island group roughly north of Saint-Malo and west of the Cotentin Peninsula. Elizabeth College, Guernsey
The Royal College of Elizabeth, better known as Elizabeth College, is a co-educational independent school in Saint Peter Port, Guernsey. One of the earliest members of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HMC), it is a public school in the British sense of the term. Founded on 25 May 1563 by royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I, the school is one of the oldest in the British Isles and is the oldest public school in the Channel Islands. The school endured a difficult two and a half centuries after its foundation, with several principals being dismissed or resigning following disputes with the local authorities. ''AW'' (formerly ''Athletics Weekly'') is a monthly track and field magazine published in the United Kingdom by Athletics Weekly Limited. The magazine covers news, results, fixtures, coaching and product advice for all aspects of track and field, cross-country, road racing and race walking. Between 1945 and 2020, it was called ''Athletics Weekly'' and was published weekly. Jimmy Green years (1945 to 1987) The magazine was started as a monthly by PW "Jimmy" Green in 1945, with the first few issues produced from the back bedroom of a bungalow in Kent which Green shared with his wife, Pam. 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships
The 2019 European Athletics Indoor Championships was held between 1 and 3 March 2019 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. This was the second time this event was held in the city after the 1990 edition and the third time it was held in the United Kingdom, following the 2007 Edition in Birmingham, England. The three-day competition featured 13 men's and 13 women's athletics events and took place over three morning and three afternoon sessions. Bids Apeldoorn, Glasgow, Minsk and Toruń all submitted bids to host the 2019 European Indoor championships. Glasgow were chosen to host the 35th edition of the event with 9 votes ahead of Toruń with 6 votes and Apeldoorn with 1. It is 29 years since Glasgow had last hosted the championships. British Indoor Athletics Championships
The British Indoor Athletics Championships is the annual national championship in indoor track and field for the United Kingdom, organised by UK Athletics. Eight track and five field events for both men and women are contested, with athletes being invited to compete, after reaching qualifying standards. In even numbered years, the competition acts as a qualifier for the World Indoor Championships, and in odd numbered years it is a qualifier for the European Indoor Championships. First held in 2007, the competition replaced the AAA Indoor Championships, organised by the Amateur Athletic Association of England, which had served as the de facto national championship since 1935. The XVII Island Games (also known as the ''2017 NatWest Island Games'' for sponsorship reasons) was held in Gotland, Sweden, from 24 June to 30 June 2017. Bedford is a market town in Bedfordshire, England. TeamBath
TeamBath is the University of Bath's sporting organisation. In addition to entering teams in BUCS intervarsity competitions, TeamBath has also entered teams in national leagues and competitions. Team Bath F.C. reached the first round proper of the 2002–03 FA Cup. They become the first university team to reach this stage since Oxford University A.F.C. in 1880. In 2005–06 the netball team were both founder members and the inaugural champions of the Netball Superleague. They were Superleague champions again in 2006–07, 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2013. The field hockey club enter a team in the Men's England Hockey League. TeamBath's main sports complex is the Sports Training Village based at the University of Bath campus at Claverton Down.
