Calimero
''Calimero'' is an animated television series about a charming, but hapless anthropomorphized chicken; the only black one in a family of yellow chickens. He wears half of his egg shell still on his head. Calimero originally appeared on the Italian television show ''Carosello'' on July 14, 1963, and soon became a popular icon in Italy. The characters were created by the animation studio Organizzazione Pagot and originated as a series of animated advertisements for Miralanza AVA soap products shown throughout Italy. The creators of the main character were Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi. At the end of each episode, it turns out that Calimero is not actually black, but only very dirty, and becomes white after being washed by the advertised soap products. Toni Pagot
Toni Pagot (16 December 1921 – 7 July 2001) was an Italian comics artist and animator. Life and career Born Antonio Pagotto in Milan, in collaboration with his elder brother Nino, Pagot started his career in the fields of comics, animation and advertising. After the Second World War, the two brothers created with ''The Dynamite Brothers'', the first Italian feature-length animated film and the first Italian film in Technicolor. In 1963, the Pagot brothers created their main successful character, the black chick Calimero. In the 1970s, Pagot turned to work as a comic artist for ''Il Corriere dei Piccoli'', ''Il Giornalino'' and ''Il Corriere dei Ragazzi''. Davide Garbolino (born 24 September 1968 in Cirié) is an Italian voice actor, dubbing director, and television presenter. Garbolino contributes to voicing characters in anime, cartoons, live action and videogame content.
