Caja Mágica
La Caja Mágica ''( es, The Magic Box)'' (also known as the Manzanares Park Tennis Center) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Madrid, Spain. Since 2009, it has been the home of the Madrid Open tennis event, and as of 2019, the home of the Davis Cup. There are three courts under the one structure, and a series of retractable roofs. The seating capacity of Courts 1 and 2 would have been increased if Madrid's bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics had been successful. Other sports and events In the 2010–11 season, it was the home stadium for the Real Madrid basketball team. In January 2013, it was the Madrid venue for the 2013 World Men's Handball Championship. It can also be used for concerts and shows. It was the venue for the 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards held on 7 November of that year. Dominique Perrault
Dominique Perrault (born 9 April 1953 in Clermont-Ferrand) is a French architect and urban planner. He became world known for the design of the French National Library, distinguished with the Silver medal for town planning in 1992 and the Mies van der Rohe Prize in 1996. In 2010 he was awarded the gold medal by the French Academy of Architecture for all his work. He was named as the 2015 Praemium Imperiale Laureate for Architecture. He received his Diploma in Architecture at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1978. He also holds a postgraduate diplomas in Town Planning from the Ecole supérieure des Ponts et Chaussée and History from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales. He currently heads Dominique Perrault Architecture (DPA) in Paris. 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards
The 2010 MTV Europe Music Awards took place on 7 November 2010 at Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain. The awards ceremony was presented by Eva Longoria and Justin Bieber was the official MTV EMA 2010 digital host. Nominations were announced on 20 September. Lady Gaga topped the list of nominations with ten, followed by Katy Perry with five, Eminem with four and Thirty Seconds to Mars & Muse with three apiece. Thirty Seconds to Mars took the stage at the pre-show featuring surprise guest Kanye West at the Puerta de Alcalá.
