Caio Facó
Caio Facó (born May 16, 1992) is a Brazilian composer. Biography Facó worked as a composer in residence for Ensemble MPMP (Portugal, 2017) and Orquestra de Câmara de Valdivia (Chile, 2017–19). He also worked with the International Contemporary Ensemble The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) is a contemporary classical music ensemble, based in New York City and Chicago. ICE performs a diverse and extensive array of chamber, electro-acoustic, improvisatory, and multimedia works. History T ... (USA), Mivos Quartet (USA) and Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa (Portugal). He won, for three consecutive years (2016–18), the most prestigious composition contest in Brazil: Festival Tinta Fresca. Contemporary classical music is classical music composed close to the present day. A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music. Etymology and Definition The term is descended from Latin, ''compōnō''; literally "one who puts together". International Contemporary Ensemble
The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) is a contemporary classical music ensemble, based in New York City and Chicago. ICE performs a diverse and extensive array of chamber, electro-acoustic, improvisatory, and multimedia works. History The International Contemporary Ensemble was founded in 2001 by Claire Chase (Ensemble flautist and executive director). The early ensemble—consisting primarily of alumni from the Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio—presented its first Chicago concert at the Three Arts Club in January 2002. In the following year, the Ensemble made its New York City debut at the Miller Theatre, and have since split their activities between Chicago and New York.
