Cabo Marlins
The Cabo Marlins were an American football team based in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The Marlins competed in Fútbol Americano de México (FAM). The team was founded in 2020 and played their home games at Don Koll Stadium in Cabo San Lucas. The Marlins were the first professional American football team in the state. Their local fans are referred to as the "Marlins Mania". For the 2020 season, the team signed former NFL player Tony Simmons to be the inaugural head coach. For the 2021 season, they hired César Martínez as their head coach and signed Darryl Render as defensive end, who was Aaron Donald's replacement at Pittsburgh. The 2020 and 2021 seasons were ultimately cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Pioneros de Querétaro (English: ''Querétaro Pioneers'') are an American football team based in Querétaro City, Mexico. The Pioneros compete in Fútbol Americano de México (FAM). The team plays its home games at the Unidad Deportiva El Pueblito. History Pioneros was founded in December 2018 as one of the charter members of Fútbol Americano de México (FAM), a minor-professional American football league in Mexico. Gene Dahlquist was appointed as the team's first head coach. Nevertheless, Dahlquist left the team after two games citing personal reasons and was replaced with Rassielh López. In their first season, Pioneros won the FAM championship after defeating the Centauros de Ciudad Juárez 16–0. Cinema Village is a movie theater in Greenwich Village, New York. It is the oldest continuously operated cinema in Greenwich Village. It was opened in 1963, housed in a converted firehouse on 12th Street. Since the 1980s, It has been owned by Nick Nicolaou, a Cypriot immigrant who came to the United States at age 12. In 1975 at the age of 15, he began working at Cinema Village. In three years at age 18, he was general manager. He later bought the cinema. Nicolaou's story is told in the film ''The Projectionist'' by Abel Ferrara.
