CKQB-FM (106.9 FM, ''Jump! 106.9'') is a radio station licensed to Ottawa, Ontario. Owned by Corus Entertainment, it broadcasts a Top 40/CHR format. CKQB's studios are located at 1504 Merivale Road in Nepean along with sister station CJOT-FM, while its transmitter is located in Camp Fortune, Quebec. History The station was launched on August 31, 1982, by Standard Broadcasting at 540 AM, with the call sign CJSB and a power of 50,000 watts (daytime) and 10,000 watts (nighttime). The station was initially a mixture of MOR music and talk programming, then became an adult standards/easy listening (Music of Your Life) station, and in January 1987, evolved into a soft adult contemporary format with the brand name ''54 Lite Rock''. In 1988, the station adopted a mainstream rock format and the brand name ''54 Rock''. CJOT-FM (99.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Ottawa, Ontario. It broadcasts a classic hits format and is owned by Corus Entertainment. The station uses its on-air brand name ''Boom 99.7''. CJOT's studios and offices are located on Merivale Road in Nepean along with sister station CKQB-FM. The transmitter is located off Stagecoach Road (Route 25) in Greely, southeast of Ottawa. History Astral Media was authorized by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) on August 26, 2008, to build a new FM radio station in Ottawa. It signed on the air on May 27, 2010, with an adult contemporary format branded as ''99.7 EZ Rock''. The first song on "EZ Rock" was "Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Bublé. CJOT became the new flagship station of the "EZ Rock" brand in Canada, about five months after the sign-off of Toronto's 97.3 CJEZ-FM, which became adult hits-formatted CHBM-FM, ''Boom 97.3''.
