CEVRO
CEVRO is a think-tank affiliated with the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), a political party in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1999 by Ivan Langer. According to Ivan Langer, the main goal of CEVRO is to improve political culture, education in social sciences and support of democracy and freedom around the world. CEVRO Institute On September 15th, 2005, CEVRO established its own private university, the CEVRO Institute, providing social science education at BA and MA levels and several professional post-graduate programs. It is focused on education and research in the area of social sciences and public policy. Civic Democratic Party (Czech Republic)
The Civic Democratic Party ( cs, Občanská demokratická strana, ODS) is a liberal-conservative and soft eurosceptic political party in the Czech Republic. It holds 34 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, and is the second strongest party by number of seats following the 2021 election. It is the only political party in the Czech Republic that has always been represented in the Chamber of Deputies. Founded in 1991 as the pro-free market wing of the Civic Forum by Václav Klaus and modeled on the British Conservative Party, the ODS won the 1992 legislative election, and has remained in government for most of the Czech Republic's independence. In every legislative election (except for that of 2013) it emerged as one of the two strongest parties. Ivan Langer
Ivan Langer (born 1 January 1967 in Olomouc) is a former Czech politician. He has been a member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) since 1991. From 1996 to 2010 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies (in 1996-2006 a vice-chairman), serving as Minister of Informatics and Minister of the Interior. Early life and education Langer graduated from the Medical Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc and the Law Faculty at Charles University in Prague. Political career In 1989 he was a student at Palacky University, and a member of the State Student Strike Committee. He joined ODS in 1991. From 1996 to 2010 he was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, and from 1998 to 2006 he was a vice-chairman of the Chamber.
