Club Deportivo Olímpico de León is a Spanish women's football club from León currently playing in Segunda División. History The club was founded as Puente Castro FC, before taking the name of León Fútbol Femenino in 1991. Puente Castro was one of the nine founding teams of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino in 1988. The 1993 Copa de S.M. la Reina de Fútbol was the 13th edition of Spain's women's football national cup. It was contested by 27 teams, and ran from 2 May to 26 June 1993. 2019–20 Segunda División (women)
The 2019–20 Segunda División season, also known as LaLiga SmartBank for sponsorship reasons, was the 89th since its establishment. On 12 March 2020 after most of teams had played 31 games, the league was suspended for at least two weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. The league was suspended indefinitely on 23 March. The season recommenced on 10 June and was initially planned to be completed on 20 July. On 20 July 2020, the final day of the regular season, Deportivo de La Coruña's match against Fuenlabrada was suspended indefinitely due to several Fuenlabrada players testing positive for COVID-19, therefore, delaying the official end of the season, whilst relegating Deportivo without even playing their match. The match was finally played on 7 August, resulting in a 2–1 win for Deportivo. 2018–19 Segunda División (women)
The 2018–19 Segunda División Femenina de Fútbol was the 18th edition of the Spanish women's football second-tier league. Competition format The Segunda División was divided into seven inter-regional groups. Each group played their season as home and away round-robin format. The seven group champions (for group 6, the winner of the Canarian final) and the best runner-up qualified for the promotion playoffs. In the promotion playoffs, the eight teams were divided by draw into two groups of four teams that played a double-leg knockout format. The two winners promoted to the Primera División. The 2011–12 Segunda División de Fútbol Femenino was the 21st edition of the second category of the Spanish women's football national championship. The competition was renamed, having been previously known as Primera Nacional, and a seventh group was created; the groups were rearranged and redistributed by regions as shown in the table below. The promotion play-offs were consequently expanded from six to eight teams, and held as two single-match rounds instead of two triangulars. The 2000–01 Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino was the 13th season of the Spanish women's football first division. Levante won its second title and earned the first Double in Spanish women's football with its Copa de la Reina win the same season.
