The 1997–98 Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino was the 11th season of the Spanish women's football first division. Atlético Málaga won its first title. Group 1 Group 2 Olímpico Fortuna and Gavilán retired during the season and all their matches were invalidated. Group 3 Group 4 Final four The Final Four was played on 8 and 10 May 1998 between the four group winners. Motril Club de Fútbol was a Spanish football team based in Motril, Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Founded in 1984 and dissolved in 2012, it held home matches at ''Estadio Escribano Castilla'', with a capacity of 4,400 seats. History Motril first reached the third division in 1997, remaining six consecutive seasons in the category. In 2001–02 it inclusively finished the regular season in first position (in group IV), but lost in the promotion playoffs against Getafe CF, 0–1 on aggregate. FCF Atlético Jiennense
FCF Atlético Jiennense is a Spanish football club from Jaén, currently playing in third-tier Primera Provincial Andaluza. Jiennense played in second-tier Primera Nacional through the 2000s, usually ranking in the top half of the table. In 2009 it topped its group, but it lost to Oviedo Moderno CF in the promotion play-offs. However, the 2009-10 Superliga was expanded with clubs from the male leagues, and Real Jaén CF chose Atlético Jiennense to represent it in the top category. In its debut season as Real Jaén Femenino the team was second to last in the overall table with 3 wins and 2 draws in 24 games. By the end of the season Real Jaén was in peril of bankruptcy, and it decided to withdraw from women's football. Unió Esportiva L'Estartit Costa Brava is a Spanish women's football club from L'Estartit, Girona. History Founded in 1992 as the women football section of an homonym football club, it became an independent club following its disappearance. In 2007 the team was promoted to the Superliga by beating SD Reocín and CD Rayco in the promotion play-offs. In its debut season L'Estartit ended in the ninth position, just one point short from qualifying for the Copa de la Reina. CE Sabadell (femení) is the women's football team of CE Sabadell. It is the women's section of CE Sabadell. History CE Sabadell was one of the founding members of the Spanish league in 1988. Fifteen years later they won their first national title, the 2003 Copa de la Reina. The following season Sabadell were the runners-up in the league, and again reached the Copa's final, which this time they lost to Levante UD in the extra time. However, this golden era was short-lived and the team withdrew from the competition in 2005 after collapsing financially.
