VEB Arena
VEB Arena ( rus, «ВЭБ-Арена»), known as Arena CSKA due to UEFA sponsorship regulations, is a multi-use stadium in Khodynka Field, Moscow, Russia, that was completed in 2016. It is used mostly for football matches and host the home matches of PFC CSKA Moscow and occasionally the Russian national team. The stadium is located near the Khodynka Field in the Park of Birch Grove. History The construction process started in 2007 but had been halted several times, with the longest pause lasting 16 months (between 2009 and 2011). The VEB Arena has a capacity around 30,000 people. The Russian Cup () is a football competition held annually by the Football Union of Russia for professional and some amateur (only after a special permission and licensing by Russian Football Union) football clubs. The winner of the competition ordinarily got a spot in the UEFA Europa League group stage. However, all Russian clubs, as well as the national team, have been barred from European competition due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The European Club Association (ECA) is a body representing the interests of professional association football clubs in UEFA. It is the sole such body recognised by the confederation, and has member clubs in each UEFA member association.
