Widener Library
The Harry Elkins Widener Memorial Library, housing some 3.5million books, is the centerpiece of the Harvard Library system. It honors 1907 Harvard College graduate and book collector Harry Elkins Widener, and was built by his mother Eleanor Elkins Widener soon after his death in the sinking of the Titanic, sinking of the ''Titanic'' in 1912. Widener's "vast and cavernous" bookstack, stacks hold works in more than one hundred languages which together comprise "one of the world's most comprehensive research collections in the humanities and List of social sciences, social sciences." Widener University is a private university in Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. Established in 1821, the university was known as the Pennsylvania Military College until 1972. Widener enrolls approximately 3,500 undergraduate students across six colleges and schools. Widener University Delaware Law School (Delaware Law School and formerly Widener University School of Law) is a private law school in Wilmington, Delaware. It is one of two separate ABA-accredited law schools of Widener University. Widener University Law School was founded in 1971 as the Delaware Law School and became affiliated with Widener in 1975. In 1989, it was known as Widener University School of Law when it was combined with the campus in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In 2015, the two campuses separated, with the Harrisburg one renamed to Widener University Commonwealth Law School. Widener is a town in St. Francis County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 212 at the 2020 census, a decline from 273 in 2010. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 km (0.5 mi2), all land. Demographics As of the 2020 United States census, there were 212 people, 90 households, and 58 families residing in the town. As of the census of 2000, there were 335 people, 111 households, and 81 families residing in the town. The population density was 258.7/km (663.9/mi2). There were 129 housing units at an average density of 99.6/km (255.7/mi2).
