Washington County Cooperative Library Services
Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) is the library system serving Washington County, Oregon. WCCLS distributes tax funds to libraries. It was established in 1975. Libraries WCCLS is made up of 16 libraries which are operated by 13 cities and non-profit organizations. Past WCCLS-affiliated libraries included ones in the former Tanasbourne Mall (when the Tanasbourne area was unincorporated) and, in the 1970s, Aloha Park Library, located in Aloha Park school, which was open to the public one night a week. In 2019, the Oregon College of Art & Craft Library closed along with the rest of the college. Additionally, the Tuality Health Resource Center closed in August. These specialty libraries had been affiliated with WCCLS for many years, and some of their collection was distributed to other libraries in the county. Hillsboro, Oregon
Hillsboro ( ) is the fifth-largest city in the U.S. state of Oregon and is the county seat of Washington County. Situated in the Tualatin Valley on the west side of the Portland metropolitan area, the city hosts many high-technology companies, such as Intel, locally known as the Silicon Forest. Library Information Network Of Clackamas County
Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC) is a consortium of the public libraries of Clackamas County, Oregon. It was established in 1977 when the first county-wide funding levy was approved by county voters. LINCC is a resource and revenue sharing network with a single library computer system. The consortium remains distinct from the Library District of Clackamas County created by a ballot measure voted on during the 2008 general election. Oregon College of Art and Craft (OCAC) was a private art college in Portland, Oregon. It granted Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees as well as art-focused certificates. The college offered an Artist-in-Residence program and provided continuing education in the arts to the local community. It was founded by Julia Christiansen Hoffman, a photographer, painter, sculptor, metal worker and weaver, out of her desire to foster the Arts and Crafts movement through classes and exhibitions. The college closed at the end of the spring 2019 semester. History The college was founded in September 1907 as the Arts and Crafts Society. Tanasbourne, Oregon, is a neighborhood in Washington County, Oregon, where NW 185th Avenue and the Sunset Highway (part of U.S. Highway 26) intersect. It is located within the Portland metropolitan area. West Slope Community Library
West Slope is an unincorporated suburb of Portland, Oregon, United States and a census-designated place. It is in Washington County, to the west of Portland's West Hills neighborhood, to the northwest of Raleigh Hills and south of U.S. Route 26. Fire protection and EMS services are provided through Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. As of the 2000 census, the suburb population was 6,442. Tualatin () is a city located primarily in Washington County in the U.S. state of Oregon. A small portion of the city is also located in neighboring Clackamas County. It is a southwestern suburb in the Portland Metropolitan Area that is located south of Tigard. The population was 26,054 at the 2010 census. History The name of the city is taken from the Tualatin River, which flows along most of the city's northern boundary. Tigard ( ) is a city in Washington County, Oregon, United States. The population was 48,035 at the 2010 census. As of 2007, Tigard was the state's 12th largest city. Incorporated in 1961, the city is located south of Beaverton and north of Tualatin, and is part of the Portland metropolitan area. Tigard Public Library
Tigard Public Library is the library within Washington County Cooperative Library Services serving Tigard in the U.S. state of Oregon. Established in 1963, the current building opened in 2004 on Hall Boulevard. As of 2012, Margaret Barnes was the director of the library that had a collection of about 230,000 items making 1.5 million loans of those items. History In 1963, the Tigard Junior Women's Club lobbied the city council to start a library in the city that incorporated a few years prior in 1961. The city agreed to establish a library, but did not fund the project. Sherwood is a city in Washington County, Oregon, United States. Located in the southeast corner of the county, it is a residential community in the Tualatin Valley, southwest of Portland.
