Vågan ( sme, Vuogát) is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional district of Lofoten. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Svolvær. Vågan Church
Vågan Church ( no, Vågan kirke; nickname: ''Lofoten Cathedral'') is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Kabelvåg on the island of Austvågøya. It is the church for the Vågan parish which is part of the Lofoten prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The yellow, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1898 using plans drawn up by the architect Carl J. Bergstrøm. The church seats about 1,200 people, making it the largest wooden building in Northern Norway, hence the nickname ''Lofoten Cathedral''. Digermulen
Digermulen is a village in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the southwestern tip of the large island of Hinnøya. It is the main village of eastern Vågan since that part of the municipality is not directly connected to the rest of the municipality (most of Vågan is on Austvågøya island). Gimsøy (municipality)
Gimsøy is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1856 until its dissolution in 1964. It was located in the northwestern part of what is now Vågan Municipality. The municipality consisted mainly of the island of Gimsøya as well as the western part of the larger neighboring island of Austvågøya. The municipalities also included 407 other small islands as well as hundreds of little islets and skerries, all of which are located in the Lofoten archipelago. Gravermarka
Gravermarka is a small village in Vågan Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the western side of the island of Austvågøya in the Lofoten archipelago. The village of Sydalen lies about southeast of the village. Gravermarka has a population of about 60 inhabitants. The village has been a documented settlement since the 1600s, but it probably goes back to the Viking Age. Three Viking graves have been found in the village.
