Stelvio (ski Course)
Stelvio is a World Cup downhill ski course in northern Italy, considered as second hardest in the world. Located on Vallecetta mountain in Bormio, it debuted at the World Championships in 1985. Widely considered as the second most difficult and scariest downhill course in the world, after the Streif at Kitzbühel, many consider it even as the toughest downhills of all. Verona Arena
The Verona Arena ( it, Arena di Verona ) is a Roman amphitheatre in Piazza Bra in Verona, Italy built in 30 AD. It is still in use today and is internationally famous for the large-scale opera performances given there. It is one of the best preserved ancient structures of its kind. In ancient times, the arena's capacity was nearly 30,000 people. The stage for concerts and opera performances decreases the available places to a maximum of 22,000. It will be used as the Closing ceremony venue for the 2026 Winter Olympics and two weeks later will be used for the Opening Ceremony for the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The facility hosts the Italian national speed skating team, and is one of the venues of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo. History The construction of the ice rink began in 1984 and was completed the following year. The official opening took place in January 1986 during an international ice speed skating competition. Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio ( en, Olympic Ice Stadium) was built between 1952 and 1954, primarily as an open air Figure skating arena in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, to hold between seven and eight thousand spectators, with the possibility of making temporary arrangements to accommodate twelve to fifteen thousand for the period of the Olympics. The venue was inaugurated on 26 October 1955. During the 1956 Winter Olympics, the arena held the opening and closing ceremonies, the figure skating events and select ice hockey games. Sometime after 1981, a roof was added to the structure. The stadium will host curling in the 2026 Winter Olympics and it will also host wheelchair curling in the 2026 Winter Paralympics.
