The sport climbing competition at the World Games 2017 took place from July 21 to July 23, in Wrocław in Poland, at the Nowy Targ Square. 63 sportsmen from 23 nations participated in the event. Jan Hojer
Jan Hojer (born February 9, 1992) is a German professional rock climber. He is known for winning one World Cup and two European Championships in bouldering. In May 2010, he climbed '' Action Directe'', still considered to be one of the most difficult routes in the world. From 2013 to 2015, he sent several boulder problems. Career Hojer started participating in German Lead climbing youth competitions in 2004, at the age of 10. From 2008 to 2010 he participated in the Lead Climbing World Cup. Since his performances in lead climbing were never outstanding, he quit competing in that discipline in 2011 and started competing in bouldering. Notable results started coming next year, when he ranked fifth in the Climbing World Championships. He won the seasonal title of the Bouldering Climbing World Cup in 2014 and finished second in 2015. Yoshiyuki Ogata
Yoshiyuki Ogata (緒方 良行 ''Ogata Yoshiyuki'', born February 4, 1998) is a Japanese professional sport climber and boulderer. He has won multiple medals in bouldering at IFSC Climbing World Cup events, including gold medals at Vail in 2019 and at Innsbruck in 2021. Ogata won the overall IFSC Men's Bouldering title for the 2021 and 2022 seasons and finished third overall in 2019. Early life and youth competitions Born in Kurume, Fukuoka prefecture, Ogata began bouldering at age 10 after he saw the sport on television. At age 17, he won the lead competition at the 2015 Japan Youth National Championships, as well as the bouldering competitions at the IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships and the IFSC Climbing Asian Youth Championships in the Male Youth A (age 15–17) category.
