Skjervøy Municipality (, ; ) is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Troms Counties of Norway, county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the Skjervøy (village), town of Skjervøy on the island of Skjervøya, where most of the inhabitants live. The main industries are fishing and shipbuilding. Other villages in the municipality include Akkarvik and Arnøyhamn. The municipality is the 211th largest by area out of the 357 municipalities in Norway. Skjervøy is the 240th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 2,794. The municipality's population density is and its population has decreased by 3% over the previous 10-year period. Skjervøy Church
Skjervøy Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Skjervøy Municipality in Troms county, Norway. It is located in the village of village of Skjervøy on the island of Skjervøya. It is the main church for the Skjervøy parish which is part of the Nord-Troms prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white, wooden church was built in 1728 to replace an older church building. It is the oldest preserved wooden church in the whole diocese, so it is a protected historic site. It was designed by the architect Hans Michelsen in a combination of the common long church style and cruciform style. The church seats about 225 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1589, but the church was not new that year. The Kvænangen fjord lies to the east of the island. The village of Skjervøy is the main population centre on the island (and it is the administrative centre of the whole municipality). Fishing is one of the main industries on the island. Skjervøya is connected to the mainland by a bridge and then a tunnel. The Skjervøy Bridge connects the island to Kågen island to the west. The village is located on the island of Skjervøya along the Kvænangen (fjord), Kvænangen fjord, near the mouth of the Reisafjorden (Nordreisa), Reisafjorden. The village has a population (2023) of 2,437 which gives the village a population density of . The village's economy is based on the fishing industry. The Hurtigruten express boats regularly stop at the village port. The historic Skjervøy Church is also located in this village. Skjervøya (Trøndelag)
Skjervøya are two connected islands in Osen Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It consists of the islands of ''Ytre Skjervøya'' and ''Indre Skjervøya'', which are connected by a long stone causeway. There are about 20 people living on the islands.
